My first thought is how impressive it is that Wisconsin is annually a top-10 caliber program.

No surprise that Vermont is the lowest considering there are only 32 football playing schools in the state. Only Alaska, who isn't shown on the above map, has fewer participating teams (30).

Literally just going to post the same thing. Without a doubt the most impressive thing about this list.

They must all go to UW-Madison. Their roster is flush with kids from Wisconsin.

Surprised Texas is so low-----must be function of a large population.

I'd assume the same of California.

This may be a little misleading. For example, Delaware is number 10, which being from Delaware surprises me with only about 60 football playing schools. However there are two D1 FCS schools in the state, both of which do recruit heavily instate. I definitely wouldn’t say Delaware is one of the top 10 football states in the country.

Very difficult to play high school football in WI. Badgers really only recruit OL and TEs from Wisconsin High Schools. They go to Jersey for Running Backs. Always have since Alvarez has been with the program. Only D1 school in the state. Kids are forced to play D3 or move far from home.
