March 21, 20188 yr If I looked like Rich Froning without a shirt I'd never wear one. Ironically that is what I look like :walk:

March 21, 20188 yr I started eating healthier and regularly exercising almost a year ago and as a result, I've lost 35 pounds and it's been years since I've been in this good of shape. I go to the gym at least 3 days a week and do some weight lifting exercises but I mainly focus on cardio work for heart health and fat burning. I do 150 crunches every visit to the gym but I can't seem to get rid of the pooch in my mid-stomach area. I decided to buy an Ab Carver Pro to help with this. I broke the thing out of the box and immediately did 40 repetitions before quickly realizing that I probably should stop because of how I may feel the next day. I'm glad I did! The day after using this beast of a machine, I hurt badly in areas that I never have after working out. I think this thing will be the real deal! I stupidly decided to read the paperwork after exercising with it for the first time. It strongly suggests that you do 10 reps to start and then take the next day off. Now I see why. After 3 days off, I'm ready to ride that bull again tonight. Does anyone else use the Ab Carver Pro? If so, what are your thoughts? Also, does anyone know how I can lose this mid stomach pooch?

I haven't used the Ab Carver Pro but if you want to lose the pooch (I do not know your diet but this is what worked for me) stop drinking alcohol but if you do have a drink on a rare occasion drink vodka water and cut out carbs.

I usually drink on the weekend but have decided to cut that out and see if it helps. I'll know in about a month if that's the culprit. Thanks for the tip.

The pooch is diet. Remember you can never out work a bad diet. Figure out what you maintenance calorie level is and adjust from there.
March 23, 20188 yr Author Open workout 18.5Repeat workout, actually this will be the 3rd time this one has come up. Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of: 3 thrusters 3 chest-to-bar pull-ups 6 thrusters 6 chest-to-bar pull-ups 9 thrusters 9 chest-to-bar pull-ups 12 thrusters 12 chest-to-bar pull-ups 15 thrusters 15 chest-to-bar pull-ups 18 thrusters 18 chest-to-bar pull-upsThis is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 18, go on to 21. If you complete 21, go on to 24, etc. Men use 100 lb. Women use 65 lb. As much as I hate thrusters I voted for this one. I wanted to go with workout that had overhead squats but I struggle so much with OHS due to shoulder issues I had to go with the above.

I was pleased since this is the first time I have ever done chest to bar in a workout and I can only do them 1 at a time. I am happy the open is over. I just do crossfit to workout and this whole competition aspect is waaaaaay beyond someone of my skill and fitness level.

The fun part is it does allow you to identify things to work on for the next year. Then you get to test if you've improved next year. My problem is I know what I need to improve but just haven't gotten any better at any of them, lol. The last time I did Fran was last Aug and I finished in 6:24. Getting through the round of 15 would be equal to Fran except with chest 2 bar which will be harder and slower. I hope to get into the round of 15 but so far I've yet to match what I hoped to in any of these workouts.
March 24, 20188 yr Author Well, got 11 thrusters into the round of 15. Pretty happy with it. Pulls ups were never an issue but thrusters had my quads screaming about half way through the set of 12.
March 24, 20188 yr Got 93 reps. Rounds of 15 was tough. Paced it well. Thrusters were not an issues. Had a massive forearm pump from the pull-ups though. Wanted to finish the 18s on thrusters but I'm overall happy with it.
March 27, 20188 yr Looks like our gym had our first regional athlete qualifier (other than our gym owner who has qualified for the games as a master athlete). Other than him, we don't have any athletes of that caliber. Pretty exciting for us to watch him qualify after busting his butt for the past year. I am sure we will head to Nashville to watch him and this regional is loaded.
March 27, 20188 yr Just got the real tale of the tape... Lab results just came back and everything is perfectly normal except tryglycerides are a little high. Liver functionality has returned to normal. Blood pressure is back to normal. CBC is perfect. A little fish oil and some exercise and I should be feeling pretty good about things.
