Hmmmm.....This one feels real familiar, but it might have to simmer in my head for a few hours before it'll come to me.

Nope, he is dead to me. No such person as Cat Stevens anymore.

 

I'm still cool with the Cat...

 

Though I personally am not that big on organized religions, being the peaceful philosophical dude that he is, it would stand to reason that he'd be the kind to be a searcher and a seeker. (I wonder of the broad reaction he might've gotten if Christianity would have been the avenue that he had taken, as if at the end of the day it really makes much of a difference).

 

While he didn't fully admit that he had become extreme about it (not to be mistaken with radicalized), you could tell from one of those interviews that for a time he had become deeply submerged, and danced around saying so, or that he's approaching life more realistically now than maybe before, but still it must've served its purpose in his life when he was more intense about it.

 

While some fans might not be ready to welcome him back, he to me is essentially the same peaceful prophet that he had always been as it's apparent that to his core this is what he's all about, and the message of his songs are timeless and still resonate.

 

With all of that said, and while he didn't say so, and while as an artist he'd undoubtedly have the urge to get back at it, I've little doubt too (because who are we kidding?) that the potential for a nice big pay day would also be some motivation to dust off the acoustic and his vocal chords. :sssh:
