He left home on a winter day 1969 And he hoped to find all the love He had lost in that earlier time Well his sister grew up And she married a man He gave her a son Ah yes a lovely son They dressed him up warmly They sent him to school It taught him how to fight To be nobody's fool Lonely boy
December 8, 20178 yr Author One of my favorite songs by this bunch... About 1981, I think. Good times... Those crazy nights, I do remember in my youth I do recall, those were the best times, most of all In the heat with a blue jean girl Burnin' love comes once in a lifetime She found me singing by the rail road track Took me home, we danced by moonlight
December 8, 20178 yr Author Hard to beat 1974 for music... Goodbye to you my trusted friend We've known each other since we were nine or ten Together we've climbed hills and trees Learned of love and ABC's Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees Goodbye my friend it's hard to die When all the birds are singing in the sky Now that spring is in the air Pretty girls are everywhere Think of me and I'll be there

He claimed that it wasn't autobiographical yet it sure seemed to be.
December 8, 20178 yr Author If you're girl hits you with a rock, are you Stone in Love. Nice job. Do you like that tune? I always thought it was just a kick butt rock song. Some great riffs by Schon in there. Had lots of fun listening to that on some hot summer days(and nights).

Seems we have a lot of the same thought processes. Weird stuff... In a good way, of course.
December 8, 20178 yr I was 10 when Seasons in the Sun came out and it always made me sad. For some reason I still recall sitting in the cafeteria at school chatting with other classmates about the tune over lunch.

I was digging on some Stephen Bishop tunes, and it came up as a suggested tune which prompted me to dig deeper into the lyrics. BTW "On and On" is such a great song, and while I once considered "It Might Be You" as fluff, it really hit my heart today making me have a newfound appreciation for it.
December 8, 20178 yr Author More seventies. Oh, haven't we all... I must have been through about a million girls I'd love 'em then I'd leave 'em alone I didn't care how much they cried, no sir Their tears left me cold as a stone ..... It used to be when I'd see a girl that I liked I'd get out my book and write down her name Ah, but when the, the grass got a little greener over on the other side I'd just tear out that page
December 9, 20178 yr Author More seventies... On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life There were plants and birds and rocks and things There was sand and hills and rings The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz And the sky with no clouds The heat was hot and the ground was dry But the air was full of sound
