December 2, 20178 yr Always liked him. Wish him the best, considering it is the Yankees. Are he and Bob the first father/son managers in MLB? I can't think of anyone else right off the top of my head. I would imagine David Bell joining Buddy in those ranks pretty soon, but not there yet.
December 2, 20178 yr He played one year with the Yankees, has NO managerial experience let alone any MLB coaching experience, yet the Yankees hire him as manager. WOW.
December 2, 20178 yr This has kind of been the trend the last six years or so with guys like Matheny, Redmond, Ausmus, Matt Williams, and Dave Roberts being given the reins. It has not proven to be succesful with most of them being fired or under fire. I don't see how Boone is an updrage from Girardi but I wish him best.

December 2, 20178 yr Didn't Giradi get hired with no experience too? Managed the Marlins prior to the Yankees.
December 2, 20178 yr Managed the Marlins prior to the Yankees. True but wasn't he also hired with no experience?
December 2, 20178 yr True but wasn't he also hired with no experience? I guess. I guess every manager was at one time hired without any experience.
December 2, 20178 yr I guess. I guess every manager was at one time hired without any experience. I'm talking about no experience at all from being a player straight to being a manager just like other guys mentioned.
December 4, 20178 yr Does this open the door for Barry Larkin here in Cincy? Why not? He couldn't do any worse than Price. Last place is last place.
