Final from Mayfield

Awesome job Cards...Next Saturday is going to be epic.

Mayfield was able to get pressure all night with their front four and they single handedly IMO won the game in the end for the Cards. I'm not sure how many sacks and tackles behind the line the D linemen had but it seemed like a ton of them.

Renewal of the rivalry.

Congrats Cards,

Wow- Mayfield vs. Danville----

I've seen that show before!

This game was definitely won in the trenches! Hats off to Mayfield

Great game. Congratulations Cardinals. Lexington here we come.

Looking forward to the Danville/Mayfield showdown. It's been too long.......

I watched a lot of this game, both teams looked great!

Congrats Mayfield!

Please everyone, this thread is for the Mayfield/CAL game only.

Way to go Mayfield, gave them what was deserved!

Just in from the game. Hats off to both teams for bringing it for all 4 quarters. Neither team dominated the other, but, Mayfield's D came up big numerous times. The Cardinals running game really surprised me tonight against a very, very formidable front 7 of CAL.. The Cards had 35 carries for 236 rushing yards on the night and only 95 thru the air. CAL rushed for 122 yards on 38 carries and passed for 108. Mayfield's safety Conner Guthrie shadowed CALs all state WR Milton Wright all night long and really took him out of the game except for a few decent KO and punt returns.. I thought I was going to have a heart attack every time that kid touched the bal on special teams, but, the Cards did a great job stopping him most of the night. Mayfield RB Kentrae Matthews had a huge game with 157 yards rushing. Special Team play was big in this one.. l

Okay, CAL is really good! That’s what makes this win even better...we beat a really good football team. Atmosphere was electric in War Memorial tonite, and it was packed...Huge crowd watched this one. Good job Big Red...Hope we have some energy to play next week.

Wright was dangerous all night on special teams that last punt he got stuck as soon as he got the ball awesome job.
