Just curious as to how that was policed? How would they know you’re Uber unless you had a sign which so many still don’t have?

My guess is if CVG didn't allow pickups the Uber app would not let you request a ride from within the airport.

CVG now has a designated spot for Uber/Lyft to pick up passengers.

I've heard that some airports don't allow Ubers, at least for picking up from the airport. Wonder if that has changed or if CVG has just always allowed it.

Taxis typically pay an airport fee. Not sure if they have figured out a way to charge Uber or not. Had a guy drop me off at Dallas Fort Worth and he wanted no part of being around airport security when he did so.

I believe Uber drivers have to do this as well at many airports. The one thing they aren’t allowed to do at most airports is sit and solicit rides.

How would the airport know though? When my dad picked me up from CVG when I came back from Naples in December, I texted him, he pulled up, I loaded up and got in.

How would they know the difference between that and an Uber?

Uber/Lyft drivers are supposed to have stickers in their windows identifying them as such. Assuming they follow the rules, they would stand out.

There you go, thanks.

Soliciting isn't Uber & Lyft's business model. They come to you...you don't come to them. I've arranged for Uber rides multiple times at airports. There are usually at least a couple-few of them cruising around near the airport. It's not quite as fast as hopping into a waiting taxi at the taxi stand, but it's almost always cheaper to wait the 5 extra minutes for the Uber to show.
