All the best to the Tigers. Played with poise and determination. Classy bunch.

I thought once KCD settled down and started running the football. They had success and Beechwood had trouble slowing the run game down. Then KCD for some reason decided to throw the football and Beechwood had back to back picks. It was over after that..

Congrats to Beechwood.

Congrats to Beechwood.

Yeah. How about 3rd and foot on beechwood 45 after moving the ball 3 and 4 yds at a time and choosing to run a flea flicker. Don’t get it. Got too anxious.

Well done tigers!!!!

Keep the train rollin...

Beechwood put in the 5th lineman and KCD’s staff either panicked or got greedy.

What a great game for Beechwood tonight!!!! KCD was the real deal super athletic and had extremely good size!!!! KCD’s offensive line came to play tonight. The first half was close but Beechwood sure missed a lot of opportunities. 2 dropped passes in the end zone on 2 separate drives. A missed FG that was just pushed and a blocked FG. KCD found their running game late in the second quarter and drove right down the field. Beechwood settled down in the second half and final got a running game of their own in the second half. Davis looked super fast tonight. What can I say about Mr. Do Everything Logan Castleman he ran well and caught 2 TD’s tonight and brought the wood on defense tonight. Play of the game happened early in the 3rd quarter with KCD moving the ball well and looking to tie the score Elijah McKinney tipped a pass and made a juggling interception and return it to KCD’s side of the field setting up the TD to get the Tigers a little seperation. What a great night for football tonight. Looking forward to next week and the trip to Campbellsville to vie for the right to play at Kroger Field. #WeAreBeechwood . Love these Tigers.

Congratulations to Beechwood.

Congratulations Beechwood!

Nice summary of the game.

Kentucky Country Day has a very good team. Beechwood fought hard for everything they got tonight. CB Elijah McKenney again showed up big in a big time game. He had interceptions on KCD's first two drives of the second half. That stopped any momentum KCD had and put the game in Beechwood's control.

Special teams were a huge part of Beechwood's win tonight. Jon Odom had some nice punt returns. Beechwood played with good field position much of the night because of the special teams play.

After KCD had success running the ball and scored late in the first half, I said if I were KCD's coach I would not throw another pass until after our next punt. If KCD had just kept running the ball, I think this final score would be even closer.

Beechwood eventually wore KCD down. The longer the game went, the better James Davis, Josh Derry, Logan Castleman and the Beechwood running game looked.

On the KCD side, they have excellent running backs. Ashton Robinson and Blake Caldwell were very good at RB. QB Jackson Diaz also is a strong hard runner. Then they mixed in WR Gianni Minor with some carries as well. The KCD line did a nice job. I am very impressed with KCD. It is a shame they had to play Beechwood this early in the playoffs the past two years. They are a team that is good enough to go all the way to a title game if not for Beechwood.

Just when it appeared the momentum was swinging to KCD's side. McKenney change the game for the Tigers. No doubt #11 is one of the Top DB's in the state.

That is for sure after being tied for the state lead in int’s last year, his int’s are down because no one wants to throw his way. Used to be called “Revis Island” well now it’s called “Elijah Island”. Kid can flat out cover.

I would like to see the video of that second interception by McKenney. That was a heck of a pick. He had great coverage, read the play well, battled the receiver for the ball, batted the ball up in the air and fought his way past the receiver to grab the pick.

One takeaway I have from last night. In spite of the win over a very good opponent, there is room for improvement for Beechwood. The Tigers missed out on opportunities last night. The offense is still not hitting on all cylinders. Beechwood's best game of the year is still ahead of them. Time to put it all together.

Agree 100% about their best game still being ahead of them!!!!

I agree with the analysis from BWTigers, EyeoftheTiger, Coach Buckett etc...this was a good competitive game, despite the mistakes KCD made early in both halves which cost them(Punt block for TD, fumble on a Statue of Liberty play deep in their side of the field two critical interceptions). Overall, the Bearcats never quit and Beechwood wouldn’t flinch.

The Tigers adjusted well, game planned well and played like a team that had been there before, taking the punches KCD threw in both halves. I agree that BW special teams really were a game changer, it’s clear they work very hard perfecting that facet of the game.

Some final thoughts: Beechwood fans, team and coaches are a total class act. The Tigers play a hard, effective, team, clean football game, and their fans support to the max in a positive way. It made the game a real pleasure to watch and the post game a mutual exchange of respect as teams left the field.

I can’t speak for the Beechwood faithful or any other neutral observer of the game, but I believe that KCD proved its high ranking all year in this game. A number of critical mistakes really hurt their chances, but I think that the Bearcats showcased their talent against a terrific opponent. Makes you proud of KCD and grateful especially to the 13 seniors who made this a game worth watching and a season that will be hard to top.
