Among the big names I believe LCA has one of the easiest paths. The two seed from district 7 is the place to be. The northern side has some good teams, the southern side has LCA, Danville, and probably a long shot but Somerset is tough. LCA will have to beat Danville or Somerset, then win a game against an NKY team like Lloyd, NCC or Walton. I hate to take shots at other programs but LCA basically gets a bye til regional play. For Danville or Somerset to come out of the east and win it they will have to play 4 top ten teams starting week 2 of their playoff run.

Yes I agree, Danville and Somerset will beat each other up while LCA will get a running clock that night.

I hate that the first 2 rounds are jv games for Mayfield. I love the playoffs but I just hate the first 2 rounds with a passion. I wish we had top 10 teams in the second round at least.

I'm with you on excitement level, but I think it shapes up pretty well for the Cards. We've got two tough teams (CC & OCath) with two cupcakes sandwiched in between for tweeks and putting the final touches on things. Assuming we can get by OCath, I think we will be thankful for those two working bye weeks.

As bad as the 1st 2 rounds are, these last 3 weeks are as good as it gets.. No more patsys from here out. No more running clocks, no more JV teams playing 1/2 the game, no more mismatches, no more sitting players to help get them healthy, no more experimenting, no more empty gates.. Nope, that's behind us now.. It's time for all teams to strap 'em up tight, lay it all on the line and come out swinging haymakers. Been waiting for this time of the season all year long. This is when it's no longer talking season, although leading up to these games should make for some great banter.. These games are where legends are made.. These are the games that the coaches, players and fans remember 30 years from now, like it were yesterday. These are the games when the teams come out of the locker room, your hair stands on end. These are the games that no one cares what the weather is doing. These are the games where traditions are built & molded or cemented in the history books. Yep, this is what it's all about folks.. Enjoy the ride and the memories.. Should be epic and good luck to all the remaining teams. And to all the Seniors, represent your school & communities with class and dignity and play with heart and leave it all on the field and win or lose, you'll make memories that'll last you the rest of your life..

Yep! Just like Danville did last year. #2 seed in the district has definitely had the easier path the last couple years.

To be exact CAL had 5 players suspended for the NCC game and those suspensions were announced just a couple of days prior to the game.
