Shocking score.

Newport's offense is really struggling.

WOW!!! Shocker of the night! Spencer County really seems to be investing in their youth there too. With the rapid population growth and excitement in that community this is a program to keep an eye on the next few years!

Really Struggling is an understatement. The offense is pathetic. The defense can only keep them in the game so long eventually their going to give up a couple of points. Is it possible for them to not make the playoffs or does everyone in the district this year go get in?

Newport,Spencer, LLoyd, and of course Mercer should be the 4 teams in the playoffs. North Oldham and Henry appear to be out.

Wow.....if this plays out, it could go down to the wire between Mercer and Spencer on the last game of the regular season.

Newport seems to be fading as the season goes on. Weren't the a preseason contender?

And it'll still be a 50-point game. Or more.

Newport was a top-10 AA team on most lists, and I read quotes from players about how they thought they had a shot to win it all after coming so close to Russell last year. But as mentioned above, the offense is not good. The QB, Hesch, isn't bad but seems to have no reliable receivers and no running game.

The defense is good, and people there told me it has turned around completely from last season. Unfortunately, so has the offense.

This is in a four class system, correct? Yeah man, looks like we really need six classes next year. Best move the state ever made.

wow! I could not believe it when I heard this score. I said last year I thought Spencer had the athletes to begin building a solid program. I did not think it would happen so soon though. Hard to believe it might come down to Mercer vs. Spencer for district champs. What about LLoyd? Haven't heard much about them this year and usually they are one of if not the front runners????

So does Newport still want another shot at Mercer? There was a lot of noise on here last week about how they could hang with Mercer, I guess we can throw that out with the garbage.

Congrats to the Bears, very nice win!

Everyone remember this game was 70-36 in Newport's favor last year?

116 points scored to 20 in this years game. Wowzer!!:scared:
