Owsley touching the ball 5 times all game unbelievable the most electrifying player in Owensboro bar none touches the ball5 times un real probably had close to 200 yards on 5 carries the fullback gets the ball more the most undisciplined team ever at Owensboro i k niw rhe penalties werer 1 sided but i cant defend this coaching staff anymore

Owensboro had no answer for Peyton Peters tonight

Apollo clinched their first winning season since 2009. Their highest win total since then was 3. They also sealed up their first home playoff game since 2005, and their first one in the opening round since 2004. A pretty good haul in addition to their first win over Owensboro in 13 years.

Not a bad night. I think they can win the first round game over Greenwood but I don't see them winning at Bowling Green or South Warren in round two. That's a long way off, though. Congratulations Eagles!

I showed on the other thread the coaching staff never gives Owsley enough touches. Paper said 176 yds and 2 TDs rushing on 5 carries, 2 receptions probably 60 yds and 1 TD. Look at his stats against every team.

Peters and the RB were aweso

E no doubt best Ahs team in a while

SW is probably going to get Graves in 1st round I wouldn't look ahead just yet

A little late to the party but what a win for Apollo. Its almost a storybook season my Eagles this year, with how they beat Catholic and the finishes vs Graves and OHS. These seniors have really been through a lot and credit them with lifting this program to another level. Especially Peyton Peters. That kid is an elite level talent.

I always hesitate to make comments on coaches, especially ones I respect the heck out of like I do the guys at OHS. That said, I just don't understand why they do not put the ball in the hands of their play makers more often. Look, Cowherd is a very talented fullback, but hes not taking it to the house from 60-70 yds out like Owsley or Green can. As an Apollo fan, watching the game, I felt like OHS was doing the Apollo defense a favor by telling the defense where to defend the Devils 90% of the time. Its also easy to criticize coaching when things aren't going your way. More important than the lack of touches for certain players, penalties and mental errors plague the Devils as much as anything. I still maintain they are talent enough to do damage in the playoffs, but after so many weeks of the same self inflicted wounds, it just becomes who you are.

The same thing every week the best players not touching the ball enough. Cowherd should not be getting more touches than Owsley but for some reason he does and the mistakes it is every week the penalties and turnovers this team has no discipline and this falls back on the coaches

Agree with ddevil. Its hard to watch, they gotta make some changes to this offense. If coaches don't wake up and change the style they are crazy. Ohs will beat all the local schools and win 8-9 games every year based on athletes, but to beat BG and Christian and advance far in playoffs they are gonna have to either goto a pro style offense or the spread. We have no threat of throwing the ball. Imagine the spread and getting ball to Owsley and letting him make people miss!

We are definitely going to talk about OHS and the "situation" about the offense tonight on the Homers Show. I'm with everyone else, OHS is not utilizing their skill guys in the most effective manner. It's been that way for quite some time. It's frustrating to watch those same kids being utilized the right way when they are at Owensboro Middle, then when those SAME KIDS get to high school, OHS runs a different offense, they can't throw the ball, and the skill guys don't get the appropriate number of touches.

I know those comments will ruffle some feathers, but everything stated is true. OHS football has been a part of my life since I was a little boy, and I hate to see OHS not be able to take that next step (ie playing BG better, beating BG once in a while) with all the available talent there and coming up. @Purple88 gave a good perspective from a BG's fan point of view, which is even they (BG fans) don't understand why OHS offensively operates the way they do.

My biggest concern with all the talent coming up for Owensboro is this: will some of those kids either 1-transfer or 2-not play because of the offense. Every single year there are lots of "vultures" out there trying to get Owensboro kids to go to other schools. Sometimes they are successful, but there are a few of us fighting behind the scenes, talking to parents, and trying to keep our kids together. But as each year goes on, and the offense is from the 70's and 80's, it's getting more difficult to keep the vultures away.

I'm out of excuses, and the vultures are circling.

It will be interesting to see how many kids will transfer over to Apollo when the new coach is announced and work begins on the new football stadium

Imagine what OHS would have been without the services of Collier,Board, and Glover who all transferred over from Apollo

They transfered because Apollo was awful for a lot of years i think OHS would have been fine if they didnt come Collier got to play in the State Championship game at Owensboro would he have at Apollo no
