How many games would Burfict get for this hit?

Featured Replies

Given his history, probably 3-5 games.

Anybody just see the hit that Vaccaro made on the Vikings' Diggs just now? Wow. Launched himself, used the crown of his helmet, hit under the facemask, all on a defenseless receiver. I am shocked that Diggs got up from that.

Yes, there was a flag on it. But it'll be interesting to see if there's an accompanying fine/suspension coming from that.

All of the games.

That is cheap, can't believe the Browns' olinemen just let Shazier walk away.

Not only let them walk away, they didn't even help him up. That was pretty low for the OL.

He'll definitely be hearing from the league this week.

Since the NFL's punishments typically don't go down, I'd say 3 or 4 games if it were Burfict. What is Shazier's fine/suspension history?

So im watching the loop of this hit and noticing the the qb was never actually down, he was hit as he started to slide his knee never hit the ground until after contact was made, square in the chest, not helmet to helmet.

What is wrong with the hit?

Did Shazier get a fine for using the crown of his helmet on Bernard a couple years ago? This looks similar.

As soon as a QB starts the slide, you can't hit him. Doesn't have to be down.

Nope, deemed legal. Nor fined for the hit on the Balt fullback he got a penalty for hitting defenseless player with crown of his helmet.

Shazier was not fined for the hit on Bernard that broke his jaw, but the NFL changed the rule several months later (that offseason) to make Shazier's hit illegal.
