Ryle 49 Highlands 27

Featured Replies

Ran a 4.7 over the summer.

That's why he's not getting offers. Still, he will play somewhere.

I'm surprised he didn't run faster than that. His game speed certainly indicates that he's faster than a 4.7.

I guess it is a little unfair to pick on Highlands tackling if you look at the RBs they've faced the past 3 weeks. Straight studs each with a great o line. It just drives me crazy to see a guy get touched by 8 players on the def and not get taken down. 11,45 and some other defenders are great but I saw many times where form tackling techniques were just not used.

The best tackler on our defense is #19, Nick Bowman LB. #27 Steiden tackles pretty well, as does #2 Armstrong (who admittedly missed a few last night)

His fastest 40 ever is 4.40 hand, 4.61 laser.

How many times has Chisholm been caught from behind?

That's all I need to know about his speed.

Kid's a football player and a winner - pure and simple.

4.6 was my guess in my previous post. That's good speed and he's a really good player. He will play somewhere on Saturday's.

Yeah those guys too. We have some good defenders. I'm just a fan of form tackling. I don't know how much they practice form tackling, but it's not enough.

The only problem I see with a 22 point loss to Ryle is knowing CovCath beat the Tar out of the Raiders by 40 points. If there is one game on the Highlands schedule that is circled every year it is CovCath. Or perhaps it isn't anymore...I know it used to be. They used to even make T-shirts that demoralized the Colonels...I think one was Beat CovCath Again..and Again..and Again....

I believe he ran a 4.7 the day after running a track meet. I believe he ran a 4.5 at a Cincy camp last year

Chisholm is no doubt the best running back in NKY. Watching that kid play against SK for the last fews years has been fun. I've heard from players and parents he's an even better kid. Hope he gets a chance to play at the next level.

I may be the only HHS fan that was encouraged by what I saw last night.

Ryle is a solid 6A contender with an outstanding run game. A big physcial O-line, a D1 running back, and a QB that can use his legs very effectively. I was expecting them to put up points. The defense was trying to stop that attack without 4 of our top 6 linebackers. Huddleston, Sparks, and Starkey did not play a single down. M. Schwalbach goes out in the 1st quarter. Liked the use of Johnson and Dunn on the D-line. Not the best opponent to evaluate the impact that move can have going forward. I'll take the effort put forth by the kids trying to stop the Raider run attack.

Offense played with pace and opened up quite a bit. Venneman and Wogan were really good. Schoellman targeted each of them multiple times. C. Schwalbach would have helped the run game, but not enough to make a big difference.

I liked some of the things I saw last night. No doom and gloom from me.

CCH was up 42-7 at Half in that game. Running clock in 3rd. I do think Ryle is improving though.

Is this by the gym teacher or is at a camp? His Hudl account indicates the 4.61 is at the Nike camp. 4.61 is plenty fast for a high schooler.

Unfortunately not, for the life of me I can't understand why. I can't call myself a "casual observer" of College football recruiting after experiencing D1 recruiting with my son. Ohio U, EKU and WKU coaches have asked me about him, I tell them they are missing the boat. He's got a 4.5 weighted GPA. Imagine what that would do to a D1 schools team GPA signing him. I'm convinced offers will come at some point during the season. EKU could get him easily. Both parents are Alumni.

Do you mean he hasn't received offers from D1 schools but has received offers from other division schools or do you mean that he has no offers from any schools, Div 1, 2, 3 or NAIA?

4.6 is great for a high schooler, the question was why doesn't he have any college offers.
