Malik is a very athletic kid...he's not better than Pearson, but he does some things on the court very well. JH should have a very good group this year...time will tell though.

Not sure honestly who else can compete with Pearson for player of the year that is a senior. Possibly Harding from Etown? A few of the top players in the region are not even seniors such as Zion Harmon and Trevon Smith

School is in session for most the 5th region schools so if there are some new faces at schools we will be hearing about them anytime.

LaRue County got a foreign exchange student (Congo), not a transfer from another 5th Region or even KHSAA school.

Childress and assistant coach Hadley have the connections over seas no doubt.

 

LaRue had the Timba kid who was foreign exchange back in the early 2000s (believe name was Timba). Childress had Siakam at Caverna, Hadley the assistant had multiple foreign exchange at Louisville Western during same time as Siakam with Childress at Caverna. It was rumored that LaRue was getting a foreign exchange during the Kelton Ford days but didn't.

 

Childress has had success with foreign exchange in the past and the Hawks do develop their big guys. If Bronco is as good as the Embree kid from Alabama was last season for them they will be right back in that region final four if not further.

The 17th is always tough and on any given night any of the four could beat the other. With no seed in the 20th this season there is a 33% chance that Taylor and Adair play first game of district.

 

Nobody is talking about Bardstown. Are we crazy to not be talking about Boo Brewer right now?

I was already high on Larue. I think they have some nice pieces in place right now. I wonder if this is the kid that played for the Louisville Magic this summer on the 16U team. Would he and Goode be able to play at the same time.

Wouldn't think it would be the same kid. Foreign Exchange is a one year deal and they are only allowed in the states for 9 months at a time.

With the history of Childress and Hadley with foreign exchange students, I would say the kid is a game changer. They haven't had one that wasn't a game changer before.

Goode was already the best interior player in the region, and now they've added more size. Could and should be interesting. If the kid is an interior player I don't think he a Goode can play at the same time. Other teams would take advantage of that I think. If he can stretch the floor a bit with his shot then that would be better for Larue. Don't they have another kid that plays inside for them as well?
