This was a big problem last year in addition to kids being selected to play that actually did not participate. Coaches need to do a better job in my opinion putting rosters together in order to make the teams as close to even as possible. Also seems like interest in this game has dwindled quite a bit over the last several years.

Like most small, regional All-Star games, many of the kids with bigger college offers are going to skip the game. It's a nice event, and gives a lot of kids one last chance to play in a real football game, but I believe these types of events are going to struggle and become less and less competitive and meaningful over time.

Gosney - QB from Highlands - is the starting SS for the Birds baseball team. Highlands won the 9th region and will be playing in the State Tourney on Friday.

Why isn't the Highlands qb playing? I know SK QB Racke is getting ready to head to Wofford.

 

I know that Racke is already at Wofford. Been there since Saturday.

Here are the rosters. I was emailed them this morning, but due to work regulations, do NOT have access to email or social media during work hours, so couldn't post them til I got home.

Can't say that this was much of a display of talent. East team really didn't have a QB who could throw the ball, while the west team looked pretty good at QB. East team used a RB who played DE for his school. Honestly wasn't much of a challenge for the West. Most of the kids who played did play hard and gave it their all. How are the coaches picked for this All-star game?

Same issues as last year. The coaches need to do a better job of putting together a roster that makes the game at least enjoyable. Hard for kids to play QB when they have not played it at that level prior to last night.
