Sappy Scenes That Move You

Featured Replies

I realized that the thread about "Epic movie scenes" is a different category.

I intend this to be a thread about minor moments that get to you.

For example, I'm currently watching "Home Alone" on CMT, & the part where he visits the church before the climax always gets to me. The section begins with Kevin telling Santa that he doesn't want any toys; just his family back. But the clincher for me is when he finally meets the old man in the church, & they talk about their families. It makes the whole movie worthwhile.

I react more to the later scene where Kevin sees the old man reunited with the family through the window, but good call.

"You wanna have a catch?"

"You wanna have a catch?"

Stop right now. Just stop!

"You had me at hello"

"I miss you Jenny"

"This is our Independence Day"

"You make me want to be a better man"

"A toast to my big brother George: The richest man in town."

Hook..."Oh, THERE you are, Peter."

(music is awesome)

The end of "Philadelphia" where they're playing home movies of Tom Hanks' character as a child.

It was a sad scene in "The Help" when the little girl was looking out the window at Viola Davis' character and crying for her to come back after she had been fired by the little girl's mom.

Yes, agree that scene was moving. The other scene from "The Help" when Viola Davis' character was telling the little girl-

“You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”

Gary's funeral at the end of Remember the Titans where they start humming Na Na Na Hey, hey, goodbye. Gets me everytime.
