Honestly I dont recall the birther story being mainstream national news for 6-8 weeks . Furthermore the station I watch gave it some play but it was the far far right guys , those nuttier than I , that tried to make that a story . Was that covered for weeks on end on CNN , MSNBC , and other democrat operatives ?

It's all for entertainment and the slant, you can't trust any of it. Your local news is the safest, not so much slant. I listen to it all and make my own judgements.

To be fair to Bush, he had to deal with a national tragedy that totally shifted the direction of his presidency. IMO, the Trade Centers attack was planned during the 8 years of Clinton. I worry that the same will happen early during Trump's presidency because of the lack of action during the past 8 years of the Obama administration.

Actually I was glad he was President rather than Gore. I though Bush handled 9/11 very well. It was when he veered off his path and went towards Iraq that I felt he made a grave error and squandered the momentum the US had.
