Heading to Gulf Shores next week and looking for any recommendations. Have a great beach-side condo so accommodations are handled. Already been told to avoid a couple of the "touristy" beach restaurants. Anybody else have suggestions on where to go or where to dine?

It's been a few years since we were down there. If you can go to dinner between 4:00 and 4:30 local time, you'll miss the crowds. The longest wait we had was about 30 minutes at LuLu's. We had good food and service at Lulu's, Tacky Jacks, The Hangout, and Papa Rocco's. We actually had Papa Rocco's twice as the kids loved the pizza. Not a fan of Gulf Island Grille. There is a place called The Gulf down in Orange Beach that I've heard from multiple people is very good. It's made of old shipping containers and is an outdoor eatery on the beach.

Cobalt on the other side of Orange Beach (under the bridge) was our favorite. Lulu's was good but not great.

Best place in the area.

Tin Top is a great place to eat. Back across the bridge in foley, off the main hwy a few miles.

We're in Gulf Shores right now and we ate at Kitty's Kafe for supper tonight. Really good food.

If you like pizza, I highly recommend Crico's Pizza & Subs. Excellent pizza at a very affordable price.

 

Went to a little hole in the wall place last night... John's Gyros & Mediterranean. A little pricey, but the gyros were fantastic.

How about Lambert's? But you better be ready for the rolls coming at you.

Lamberts is as overrated as they come. Food is ok at best, just a lot of it.

The Diner is really good too.

Fish River Grill is a good spot recommended by the locals. I had a loaded seafood platter with frog legs and gator bites. I was not disappointed at all, and would definitely make a return visit.
