Paris Greyhounds vs. Scott Eagles

The 2017 10th Region Basketball Tournament continues Monday at the Fieldhouse with Bracken County/Campbell County at 6:00, followed by Paris/Scott at 7:30. These two teams have not met this season.

 

Paris comes in with a record of (26-7) and winners of the 40th District. The defeated Robertson County Thursday 68-42. The Greyhounds are led in scoring by Jekobi Wells who is averaging 17 PPG along with 6 RPG. The spread out scoring of Paris also features Eric Johnson with 14.7, Tayjin Cunningham with 9.3, and Ryan Davis with 7.9 points per game.

 

Scott comes in with a record of (19-12) and runners-up of the 37th District. They defeated Mason County Thursday 75-57 where Jake Ohmer had 28 points. The 10th Region Player of the Year leads the Eagles averaging 26.3 PPG and 8 RPG as well.

This should be a great game. Too close to call. Supporting our 40th district team. Go Hounds.

The way Ohmer played last night makes me think he doesn't plan on baseball season starting just yet , Scott wins this one and beats Campbell next to play in Rupp

Paris wins because they play perimeter defense and close out on shooters...Scott made seems like every open jump shot last night...Scott don't lock down on defense but are smart "charges"..I believe Paris' athleticism overwhelms Scott w multiple bodies and looks on Ohmer...speaking of Ohmer...very impressed w that kid...Scott's Lack of size will allow Wells to use his freaky slinky athletic ability to score in the paint and or get fouled... Eric Johnson and the perimeter players didn't shoot well last night...very rarely do they shoot bad in consecutive games. Scott didn't really cause turnovers last night and in Paris' early losses this year they turned it over...Scott makes a run late but Paris wins by 14...if the refs call ticky tac fouls 7.

This is going to be a good one, it's a toss up for me so I'm gonna pull for the NKY school, I'm going with the Eagles.

Scott by 5-8. Ohmer will get his. Dumelow (sp?) will be the difference maker like he was in the Mason.

 

I think this game will be an absolute slobber knocker. Free throws is what itbwill come down too. Paris has to foul to extend game and the eagles excell from the charity stripe

I want to say Paris by 5 but the way Scott plays by spreading things out they will be hard to beat. They always say cut the head off a snake which is ohmer by playing a chaser on him and let everyone else beat you. If not, Scott by 10.

You are right!!!! It is about how ref will call this game!! I say let them play big boy basketball!!! If it is ticky tac fouls then scottt by 10

For Paris to win, I think Eric Johnson needs to play well. He's struggled the last few games, but I think he's due. Ohmer is the real deal and is totally deserving of the 10th Region POY honors. Very talented, and gets his teammates involved. I think this game will end up being the best game of the tournament.
