I'm suprised that more people hasn't picked Middlesboro in a big way;after all they are the #5 in class AA in the 9/19 BGP Poll. Rankings wise, a Corbin win would be considered a mild upset, despite the fact Corbin has taken the previous two meetings.

My questions of BGP'ers reading this: How much pressure is on Middlesboro to win this game? Are the Jackets a top 5 team? Does Corbin belong outside the 2A top 10? Will this be a blowout? There is alot we can discuss leading up to Friday's game.

Won't be a blow out both are good ball teams. I think Corbin has the upper hand this week to make it 3 in a row.

One would think that Middlesboro should be a heavy favorite in this game due to some of the following:

1. Middlesboro ranked #5 while Corbin is not on the radar of the top 10.

2. Middlesboro is at home

3. Middlesboro took their bye-week before this game.

4. Middlesboro is still seeking revenge over Corbin's freshman running a 2-point conversion in the 2004 game(why....... I never have understood).

5. Middlesboro is loaded with seniors who have started for 3 years while Corbin only starts 4 seniors.

6. Middlesboro's seniors blew-out the Corbin seniors by 50 or more when they played each other in the 8th grade.

Throw out the reasoning on this one, Hounds win a close one...

All of this is true but you can toss it out the window when the Hounds and Jackets meet up. I love me some Corbin vs. Middlesboro rivalry!!:ylsuper:

bell co. will be playing morristown west next year it will be a good one that is where josh sanders corbin football player comes from.

Josh moved to Morristown when he was around 11 years old and moved back to Corbin second semester his freshman year. I believe that he was the freshman QB when he was there.

Anything can happen in big high school rivalry games. This should be a good one. I'm taking the Hounds in a close one.

Sanders moved to Morristown after the third grade and moved back to Corbin 2nd semester of his Freshman year. Coach Woods of Morristown West wanted to keep him there. He offered to let him live with them. Says a lot for Sanders. West is a tough team year after year.

I'm not trying to "pump up" Clint because he is from Corbin.

I thought he was from Pineville, just lives and plays in Corbin.

BTW I see Corbin winning this one by no less than 12 points and maybe as much as 18.

I think corbin will come away with the win. But this will be one of the last times for a while middlesboro will be able to play with Corbin. Monday night corbin's 8th grade put a pretty good whippin on m'boro in a very classy way. 42-16 When it was time for the scheduled 7th grade game their coach had no intentions of playing even after it was confirmed earlier in the day by phone that their were to be 2 games. Corbin's 7th grade was in the process of warming up when m'boro coaches told their kids to go get on the bus. With no forewarning to corbin. Apparently after some sweet talking they agreed to play one quarter and one quarter only which ended up being 16-0. What is that teaching kids???? Back down? Very unclassy, alot of people had paid to see two games and only got 1 1/4. Anyway with kids being taught that whats to expect in the future?

Hmmm, that sure does not sound like the Middleboro teams of old times. Wonder how them parents felt that drove all the way down from Middlesboro to see them youngins play a game. Did Corbin refund the money to the crowd? If that there Coach of them Little Yellow Jackets is a school employee then I would bet he heard alot of complaining today. Times shore are different these days.

I was very very shocked. The thing that makes it even worse is there was 2 games scheduled. M'boro coach called earlier in the day to verify that we would be ready to play 2 ballgames then they pull somthing like this .

I agree if that is indeed the case. I always took my whippings like a man and dished quite a few out myself. If you agree to play then I feel you should honor the obligation. Congratulations to them young Red Bone Hounds sounds like they got them some boys who like to mix it up. :ylsuper:

I agree Jackets future looks dim no class in that move. What can you be teaching your kids when yoy refuse to play. For what ever reason. I here Corbin future is bright.

I believe Corbin Fresmen have beat Middlesboro twice this year, last game was 40-12'. Middlesboro JV beat Corbin by somewhere around a touchdown at Middlesboro early in the season.
