No doubt both teams played hard but 34 to 33 in O T? I'd rather stay home and watch Rachel Maddow. Wait a minute, let me rethink that.

I believe Beechwood led 22-11 at one point. (Statman can correct me if I am wrong). The Tigers played a zone the entire game with the exception of 1 play out of a timeout last in 4th. Also, BW had the lead the whole game and was able to run 45 sec to a minute or more off the clock every possession once the got out to that lead.

Holy Cross played right into the hands of BW all night by settling for 22-25 ft 3s all night. Holy Cross shoots 4 for 24 from 3 and didn't attack the zone and rim most of the game.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter, a win is a win. Very happy for Will Volpenhein. Had struggled from the field all night long but the senior steps up with a huge 3 to win it.

Good luck to the Beechwood seniors.

Very well said. I have no idea why you wouldn't attack that zone, especially when your shooting is ice cold! No need to go on about anything else, same as before.

2 free throws. Hard to get fouled when your passing the ball around 5 ft outside the perimeter and don't go to the rim.

Why so many 3 point shots?? 24 is huge and if you are not making them why didn't they go inside?

Agree 100% with #99. No complaints about the free throws from me. Refs weren't the issue.

Coach Goetz did exactly what he wanted to do which is get out to a lead and be able to stay in a zone, let the Indians jack up threes and keep the score low. It almost worked. It's a good thing that Ty Houston & Derrick Barnes played really good half court defense in the 2nd half and overtime on Toebbe and Alcorn. That won the game for Holy Cross IMO until Volpenhein's 3 to win it.

You should ask coach Schrand that question. Nobody but him can be blamed for that.

This had to be a miserable game to watch haha

It was.

The guy takes a school to back to back Regional tournaments for the first time since 93-94 and still gets hammered...
