Unless B-Ball-fan is wrong it seems like they made the regional 18 times since 1954 before these last 2 appearances. Its a fairly big accomplishment. Does Beechwood have a 50% chance to make region too? I'd love

Probabilities and percentage are two different things. In the recent past the probability of HC or beechwood making it to the regionals was slim. But the fact remains that 50% of the teams in this district are going to regionals, so how is my math wrong?

So if Beechwood and HC should make the region half the time should their AD's and all basketball staffs be fired every few years for not making it 50% of the time. You said they have a 50% chance at making it. That's entirely false. 50% of the teams make it, but CCH has a better than 50% chance to make it and you're kidding everyone if you say otherwise.

Thers were years when CCH's probability of making it to regionals wasnt good either. But they still had a 50% chance they could. I don't think most expected HC to make it last year, but they did. When you have three teams that are real close in strength, and one out front, probability is the front runner is going to regional and who ever they play in first round is going home. That leaves two alike strength teams to play each other. One is going to regionals other is going home. That people is a 50% chance for HC and beechwood. They all had that fifty percent chance, the one who drew Cov Cath had a low probabity of getting the win. Once again, probabilities and percentages are two different things. And no I don't think that staff should be fired for not making it 50% of the time. But if your Win loss record is less than 50% more times then not, it may be time for a change
