Columbus Blue Jackets Experience

Featured Replies

I know there aren't many NHL fans in the area but do yourself a favor and take in a Blue Jackets game in Nationwide Arena. Even if you're not a big hockey fan or you don't know the rules, you will have a blast. There are 15+ bars/restaurants within short walking distance from the arena to hang out before the game. Once inside the arena, the atmosphere is phenomenal. The concessions rival the best in the nation. When the Jackets score, they fire the cannon, which is pretty darned loud and exciting. If you've never been to a Blue Jackets game, you don't know what you're missing.

I was going to catch the Penguins up there a year or so ago and my ticket connection didn't work out. I've been to Pittsburgh to 3-4 Penguin games and I love it, probably one of the best sporting events I've ever been to live.

A few years ago I had the 10 game pack of season tickets. We loved it. Just got too busy to go to all the games, so we dropped them. I would love to get into a group that bought one of the packages and divide them up, etc.

I've been thinking about doing a venue tour. I'd pick 2 or 3 Lightning road games a year until I've been to all of the NHL venues. My first road game would be Sunrise, but Columbus would be #2.

You won't be sorry going to Columbus. It's pretty special. We plan to hit Nashville before the season ends and compare it to Columbus.

I have been to both. There is plenty to eat and do around both. Very much the same type of experience. Both are really great and convenient. I liked the Gaylord Center better than Nationwide architecturally.

The Arena District in Columbus is really neat. Plenty of bars/restaurants, movie theater, hotels and Sports venues all in easy walking distance.

Last night's win VS the Wild was my 3rd game this year. The 1-0 win by the Jackets was the most exciting 1-0 game you'll see. 78 total shots on goal between both teams. The atmosphere was great and Minnesota fans travel well.

It's a blast. I love going to cyclones games but watching NHL players is so different. The athleticism is on another level. Saw them vs Blackhawks last year. Chicago is on another planet- at least their first two lines.

One of my triplets is a huge Blue Jackets fan. Taking him on the 25th against the Flyers. Can't wait!

Sounds like a future BGP road trip is in order!

I'm game

The Jackets are one of the youngest teams in the league. They've got enough of their core players locked up for the next few years. There will be meaningful hockey played in Columbus for a while.
