Walton Verona at South Oldham 2-13-17

Featured Replies

Big 8th region matchup in Crestwood Monday as the Bearcats (22-5) invade South Oldham (22-4).

Something's got to give as one of the region's stingiest defenses tries to slow down the #2 scoring offense in the state. (South averaging right at 80 ppg)

This one should be a lot of fun, and may help clarify the top pecking order in the region heading into the post-season.

If you can, this is a game to see. If you can't be there, live video coverage on Pegasus Sports:

pregame starts at 7 pm ET

I look forward to watching this one. Thanks for all you do Colonel.

All eyes in the 8th region will be following this one.

Mike, thanks for all you all do over there.

Final, South Oldham 64-41.

First quarter was freakish. South led, 4-2 (not a typo!) after hitting just 1 of 15 shots against a stingy WV defense and the Bearcats mustered just 7 shots total in the frame.

South led, 21-14, at the half.

Second half dooms Walton as South heated up after the half (15 of 31 shooting and 7 of 17 threes) and the Bearcats' offense just couldn't keep up. Clinkenbeard got going late and was a beast in the fourth period, but didn't get his first FG until the second half. Miles also held without a field goal in the first half and finished with just 2 points.

David Beyerle (5 threes) and Joe Griffin led South with 15.

South moves to 23-4; W-V falls to 22-6.

Elbow J - to watch future games: go to http://www.pegasussportsky.com Click on any of the three school logos. Then click on the triangular "play" button that appears on the "tv screen" when it appears. All games in standard definition are FREE; high definition costs $4.95 (worth it, in my opinion!!!)

I watched the 4th quarter. Awesome service you're providing.

Thanks!

Gotta be honest, this was a brutal game to watch (especially the 1st quarter). The Miles kid has some potential, if they didn't have him on the boards and as a presence inside they'd have alot less wins. What grade is he in?

I am sure Simpson was not pleased with the first quarter but South lives and dies by the three. Good to see Beyerle with a good game, he has not been a big scoring threat so far this year. This is what makes South a dangerous team when you know that you will get steady performance from Griffin but then you have Young and Franklin who can drop 40 on any night and throw in Hoover and Beyerle who can hit from the outside and you have a defensive problem. Morrison and Hicks are contributing and will be leading the way next year. The first round game with North at OC will be a challenging task for one team to get to the Region
