February 9, 20179 yr Hearing about KEES money still chaps my rear end. When I graduated high school we had several speakers come and address everyone at our baccalaureate luncheon, including someone or other important-ish from the Kentucky Education Cabinet. He was talking about all of the great things going on in Kentucky, including this new program they were going to launch the next year called Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship, which would make ALL of this money available to high school seniors entering college - beginning with the graduating class following ours. He basically stood and told us all about how there is going to be a bunch of college money available soon, but that we wouldn't ever be eligible for it. Thanks for rubbing our faces with it, numbnuts.
February 9, 20179 yr I thought you only had like 5 or maybe 6 years to use KEES money as well. So, if you drop of of school for a while and then go back you may no longer be able to use it. Not 100% sure but I thought that was the case.
February 9, 20179 yr I thought I heard someone recently mention that if you went out of state for undergrad and did not use it, but then went to a Kentucky school for post graduate studies, you could then use it? No they can not get KEES money for this. Just looked into it for our oldest.

February 9, 20179 yr I believe there are some reciprocal arrangements at some colleges, like IUSE. Also, some private colleges out of state will match the KEES grant earned by a student from KY. My daughter had an out of state school tell her they would match her KEES money if she chose to attend their school.
February 9, 20179 yr My daughter had an out of state school tell her they would match her KEES money if she chose to attend their school. UE matched my son's grant amount all 4 years he would have been eligible for the money in a KY university.
February 10, 20179 yr My daughter had an out of state school tell her they would match her KEES money if she chose to attend their school. My son is attending college in WV. We asked the Financial Aid office if they could match his KEES money when they offered his Financial Aid package. He had a new offer the next week that included that money :-)
