On the surface I think it is a pretty good analogy.

It is in a way. Matt Ryan still looked great and put up big points even when Julio Jones was out for awhile. Even during a career year in 2015, if Green didn't play. I doubt the offense still puts up big points like the Falcons did even with Julio out. Plus Matt Ryan played well in big games. Even during Dalton career year, in those prime time games Dalton reverted back like against Houston and led to losses.

 

Qb play in big games is a big difference. Dalton still didn't show that in big games, and didn't look nearly as good in those games. Only Seattle was the one good team they beat with him playing well that day. Daltons play in big games has been the killer for all 6 years. Such a big drop off for him in those games.

Anyone remember when the Bengals beat the Falcons in 2014? That was supposed to be a big year for the Falcons and it put them on the road to 6-10.

This is a historically great offense, sooo no.
