*Prior to 12:00, complete 3 rounds of:

8 chest-to-bar pull-ups

4 squat snatches, 185 lb.

*Prior to 16:00, complete 3 rounds of:

9 chest-to-bar pull-ups

*Prior to 20:00, complete 3 rounds of:

10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

2 squat snatches, 245 lb.

Prior to 24:00, complete 3 rounds of:

11 chest-to-bar pull-ups

1 squat snatch 265 lb.

*If all reps are completed, time cap extends by 4 minutes.

Here is the male scaled version, which I attempted:

Prior to 8:00, complete:

3 rounds of:

6 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

6 squat snatches, 45 lb.

Then, 3 rounds of:

7 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

5 squat snatches, 75 lb.

*Prior to 12:00, complete 3 rounds of:

8 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

4 squat snatches, 95 lb.

*Prior to 16:00, complete 3 rounds of:

9 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

3 squat snatches, 115 lb.

*Prior to 20:00, complete 3 rounds of:

10 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

2 squat snatches, 135 lb.

Prior to 24:00, complete 3 rounds of:

11 jumping chin-over-bar pull-ups

For the average guy, I would expect anyone getting any snatches at 185 would put up a extremely good score. The elites will at least get to the 265 rounds and the very top guys will finish it (but not many), the regional guys will at least finish the 225 rounds and maybe get a few at 245. This one will definitely rearrange the leader board.

They had 3 of the elite guys on last the stream last night and one of the three really struggled to get the 265 snatch.

Saw that. Cole Sager is the one and he finished 5th I believe at the games last year. He's made it to the game the last 2 or 3 years. Played football at University of Washington. 265lbs is big time for most of these guys. There is only a hand full with PR's at 300 or more so 265 is going to be pretty close to most of the elites PR's.

Since I am a newby I have no clue, but there was a lot of grumbling this morning that the Castro has lost sight of the regular joe working out at a box and that the workouts in the open are too geared towards the elite athlete.

i think what people forget is while the open is just for fun for most it's still suppose to serve a purpose. It needs to separate the best of the best from everyone else. That's why for example this week started with a relatively low weight. It allows just about anyone to get reps but only the elite will progress at the heavier weights.

Finally got into the gym went Saturday and today. I also have been trying to drink a gallon of water a day. I was drinking pop like crazy.

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 13 minutes of:

55 deadlifts, 225 lb.

55 wall-ball shots, 20-lb. ball to 10-ft. target

55-calorie row

55 handstand push-ups

or Oldbird scaled:

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 13 minutes of:

55 deadlifts, 135 lb.

55 wall-ball shots, 20-lb. ball to 9-ft. target

55-calorie row

55 hand-release push-ups

I would say it was tough, but who I am kidding - they are all tough for me.

I will say I am ready for the open to be over.

Won't be able to do it this year but did it last year. It was rougher than I thought it would be. I got through the row but didn't have anything left to get a HSPU. I wouldn't expect I would do any better this year if I was able to do it.

Look for thrusters next week. There hasn't been double unders either so those will most likely be there. Maybe ring muscle ups. But definitely thrusters.

Good call. Didn't even think about it being dumbbell thrusters.

Only 37 workouts in this year. Last couple of weeks have been bad. Feeling back to normal so hopefully things will that way as far as the gym goes.

So a quick question. I have never eaten as healthy in my life as I am doing right now. Eating whole foods and keeping my calories around 1200-1300 daily. I'm excercising minimum 5 days a week. Distance running two of those.

Back two years ago I was 184 (217 currently) at my best. I didn't eat bad or perfect but kept my calorie count at around1600 give or take. I started taking an anti anxiety medicine around the first of the year, and while it let me mentally get back into working out it seems to me it's messing with my metabolism. Eating the Whole Foods is filling me up faster so I struggle to eat 1500 calories most days. There is no factual proof anxiety medicine causes weight gain, but plenty of theories. By my count I should be losing minimum one pound per week. I've lost 5 since beginning of January.

Anyone else have this type of experience? Thanks

When I take my vitamins and keep my calories under 2000, I gain weight. Now according to my fitness pal I am suppose to be dropping 1 pound a week.

By working out 2+ hours at a time, I wouldn't think weight loss would be an issue.

I have battle fat since I was 27. Nothing seems to work. When I was keeping the calories at 1200 a day plus working out 2 plus hours 4 to 5 times a week I did drop some pounds. However I was not able to keep that up for more than a couple of months.
