Who was better, Elder or Lou. St X ??????

Pretty detailed analysis of two teams that have never played. Does that system work at Churchill downs? I guess I just give the GCL a lot of respect. In 04 The Tigers were trounced by a Moeller team that was far from great (I don't think they made the playoffs), X went on to run the table on their way to state title number 11. I wouldn't bet against a GCL team often.

Lou St. Xavier is leaps and bounds better than Elder, IMO.

Better?, yes; "leaps and bounds"?, no. The few times I've seen (or at least followed) Elder over the past few years, I think you would be hard pressed to say ANY team is "leaps and bounds" better than them.

No...but Moeller threw all over X....Elder likes to run, and that "normally" doesn't work wonders against X.

St. X by at least two scores. HHS gave two scores to Elder on special team mishaps inside the 10 yard line. Elder had 145 total yards against the Birds. God Bless the Catholics or else the Birds would never lose.

I like that...... Now that's funny....:ylsuper: :ylsuper:

I wonder if they will continue to be a "machine" without coach Wright?

Only time will tell on that one but I've seen them twice this year and they haven't missed a beat this year. They beat Indianpolis Ben Davis, the second best team in Indy something like 76 to 7.

If Highlands was "beat up" they sure did not play like it. I was also not aware of any injuries that Highlands suffered in the Elder game. Did they come out with out injuries against St. X?

I have not seen Elder so I can not make a first hand comparison. I suspect it would be a close game.

I don't give out injury info, sorry. And I agree it would be a close game, but think X would win.

I'm not saying that X may be better than Elder this year. X is the #1 team in Kentucky and Elder may not even make the playoffs. I questioned the "leaps and bounds" comment. A team that is "leaps and bounds" better should blow-out their opponent, do you see that happening in an X/Elder match-up?

I think what you are saying is so true....and shows how much better Ohio football is over Kentucky........When a team like Elder who "May not even make the playoffs" and the talk is, who is better between Elder and Lou St. X......

It is good to know that a Kentucky team is better than a Ohio team. Or that most think they are.

I don't think that Elder has lost a game yet, so why do some people think that they won't make the playoff's?

Because they could end up 5 - 5 with tough games remaining against the other 3 GCl schools plus De La Salle (Ca) and Bishop Chatard (In).

Even if they win two of those games 7 - 3 would probably put them on the bubble.

X takes care of the ball and doesn't turn it over...they seemed to be slightly better disciplined...Elder's special teams were truly "special". Give the edge to X because of the two stud running backs!
