South Oldham 63 Spencer County 60

Featured Replies

Fatigue might have been a factor. Four games in four days.

Probably. But I always have a hard time going for fatigue excuses. Everyone plays 3-4 days in a row. South Oldham was blowing people out, so if coach Simpson wasn't resting guys, that's just irresponsible.

South Oldham didn't rest anybody last night. South Oldham beat Spencer County by 29 two weeks ago. Logic would tell you that this points to coach Burns being an excellent coach. Made adjustments and dang near pulled the upset. The near upsetof Anderson County in the playoffs last year would also point to Burns being a very good preparation coach. Burns has some talent in the pipeline so things should get interesting. Number zero from South Oldham was very impressive. On one rebound his head almost hit the rim. No exaggeration!

Actually the game before Spencer, South Oldham rested their starters the WHOLE second half. So if anybody should be using the tired excuse it should be Spencer.

Yes, South defeated Spencer 93-64 on 12/6/16 in Taylorsville. Big second half in that one to blow open what had been a very competitive game. If South overlooked Spencer, then shame on them....the Bears played a very good game that first time around.

Burns is a tremendous coach and a great guy. He really learned a lot coaching under Steve Simpson, and has incorporated some of his own philosophies. Glad to see him doing so well.

Spencer's return will make for an interesting 30th with Anderson and Collins.

29th still looks like a South vs Oldham battle, but I don't think North Oldham can be completely overlooked. We'll know about the Mustangs when they get Jalen Henry back to speed....their recent 11 point loss to undefeated / ranked Harlan County may give us an idea of their potential.....

Spencer still lost at home. Congratulations

My point exactly. Should Spencer get out of the 30th the game why should we believe they can win on a neutral floor.

Spencer County didn't have a game the day before the South game. What you are saying makes no sense. South played four days in a row. Spencer had the day before off.

Don't think anyone is saying Spencer County is a contender for the region. I just don't think people realize how young and talented they are. The future is bright!

Spindoc---didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. Just some observations.

True Blue and Gold--You do realize that all of South Oldham's games before the Spencer County game were blowouts and the starters pretty much sat out the second half? I'm just saying that the excuse of them being tired is ridiculous. It's ok for some of you to give Spencer County a little credit. They are alot better than some people thought. South Oldham is still the team to beat. Nobody is questioning that.

Hat's off to Spencer County.

You do realize playing any amount of any game is more physically taxing on a body than playing no game, correct? You do realize that traveling to away games three days in a row is more taxing than playing at home, with a day off between games, correct?

Come on...you lose credibility when you argue that Spencer's day off was more fatiguing than South's starters "pretty much" only playing the first halves of some prior games.

Good of luck to Spencer Co from here on out. I look forward to watching them at the "Roy."

It's ok. I ordered your trophy.

You do realize these kids are young .They can handle it. In aau these kids are playing 3 to 4 games in one day during tournaments. My son has done that. Not a good excuse.

Okay. You can back away from your claim.
