South Oldham 63 Spencer County 60

Featured Replies

Great game! Spencer County had them beat, but number 0 took over and pulled it out for South Oldham. Spencer County looked great. They leave everything on the floor and so young. Burns is a very good coach. Looks like Spencer County might make some noise a year earlier than I thought.

They did play very well. Had the lead with 1:38 left.

Joe Griffin 28/13/5 for South

Looking at South Oldham' scores....this is the first time they scored under 70. Spencer has a brilliant defensive minded coach. He has put up some good game plans the past few years. I'm sure it helps that he knows a lot about South having coached there.

I would venture to think South Oldham overlooked Spencer going into this game.

Fatigue might have been a factor. Four games in four days.

Coach Burns has built the program the right way. This is his fourth year and he and his staff work extremely hard. The program has progressed every year and they are not a team that you want to take lightly. They have multiple shooters, they have a couple of post threats and they will guard you. They have gotten better every week, and fully expect them to continue to improve. They are well prepared, and they play extremely hard and unselfishly. The future is bright with the current young talent and the talent all the way through their middle school programs. Definitely a program to watch, they will have ups and downs this year due to their youth but this is a program that is on solid footing and will continue its upward trend. Really exciting team to watch play!

I doubt they overlooked them considering they played two and a half weeks ago. Spencer County also played that many games in a row. If you haven't seen Spencer County you might want to come and watch. You might be surprised. South Oldham actually played very well.

Tired, shot it poorly, and in the end Joe took over and they won. Congrats to South and coach Simpson on the victory.

Sounds like the thing to take away from early season so far. Is South Oldham has a really good team. They have kids that know how to win and have the best player in the region. Going to be a fun year. Oldham looks very good as well.

If South Oldham can win at Oldham, could they run the table in the regular season?

Spencer County boys were tired as well. South Oldham shot poorly because they had people in their grill. Burns had them ready. Eighth region is going to be fun this year!

Didn't Spencer Co have the day before off?

Hasn't South already won twice in Taylorsville?
