Ludlow @ Bellevue Predictions

What is everyones thoughts of the outcome of this game?

This game has big meaning for both teams and could go along way for one of these teams making the playoffs. Bellevue won last years game, but Ludlow has won 2 out of the last 3. It is Bellevues homecoming and 70 year anniversary of their stadium, so there will be a great atmosphere for this huge rivalry game.

I think though that experience will help Ludlow with having alot of players that started in last years game playing, while Bellevue lost pretty much everyone from last years team. So that is why I will give the edge to Ludlow in this one.

Ludlow 20

Bellevue 6

GO PANTHERS!!!

Bellvue 23

Ludlow 6

Going to be a close game. Expect a lot of hard hits and not a lot of offense. I do expect though that Ludlow's defense will win a close one for them.

I like Bellevue in a close game 20-14. Home Field and the adrenaline will be on the Tigers side.

Bellevue has seemingly put all their eggs in the basket for this game. Probably not a bad idea in the off season when it was pretty well thought that the winner of this game likely makes the playoffs. Now that Dayton is improved it might be a three-way race but in any case both teams need a win here or else they could be out.

Look for Bellevue and Ludlow to lock in a defensive struggle. A 14-7 game might be about right. Emotionally Bellevue should be jacked up big time so Ludlow might be walking into a really tough game. They will have to avoid any early turnovers and try to score and keep the crowd out of it. That's a tough task and I think the Tigers win this one.

In alot of your post i have seen that statement about 2 of the last 3 years. If we bring up the last 5 years we have you beat.

One thing I do know... they are really up for this game in Bellevue... all over the town there are tigers painted on store windows, signs put up etc....

Now, for what I think will happen, I think the game comes down to one simple thing, can Ludlows run defense, which probably isn't as good as their pass defense with Poe and York, stop Bellevues power running game with about a four back tandem in Tague,Ross,Daines, and Sibrel. They all run pretty alike except Sibrel brings more speed to the table than the other three which are more power backs. Tague and Daines like the inside handoffs, Ross is more of an off tackle guy, while Sibrel probably is most off the edge. A lot lies up front IMO. If Ludlows D-line, which I know little of, can keep the Bellevue Oline off the backers, I think with sound tackling Ludlow takes it. However, if Ludlow lets Bellevue create a new line of scrimmage every play Bellevue takes it.

Also a little side note, if Ludlow gets and early lead and forces Bellevue to throw the ball a little they could most likely make it a lot easier on themselves. I am under the impression that Bellevue already switched QB's...

How about the coaching angle? Experienced Eckstein versus the rookie Borchers.

Yeah that is true, but then you could also just keep going from 10 years to 20 years and so on. But most time people do talk about what has happened recently and recently Ludlow has won 2 out of the last 3. I know you probably dont like hearing that since it has Bellevue losing more. But ever since Ludlow broke out of the losing streak years when every team and just now Bellevue was beating, they have won more out of the series and that is why I say 2 out of the last 3 years....

Also if Ludlow wins this game then Ludlow would have won more out of the last 5 years.... :sssh:

How about the players angle? Experienced Ludlow team versus many inexperienced Bellevue players...

Also even though Borchers is a rookie head coach, it is still the same staff that has been there for the last 3 years. None of the assistant coaches left when Hensley left. So the whole staff of Ludlow is pretty experienced too...

This should be one heck of a game though, and I know I look forward to watching it...

I will agree with just about everyone on here in saying that this game will be a dog fight from whistle to whistle. Both teams have their respective advantages to this game. But when all is said and done, I do not believe that Ludlows kids who are tough and gritty kids just like Bellevue, won't be tough and gritty enough to win this game. I will pick Bellevue in a close game.

Bellevue 20

Ludlow 14

The key to this game is Bellevue will win the turnover battle and the toughness battle.

This should be a game that ESPN CLASSIC should air.

Ludlow's D-LINE and entire defense has played well for the most part. In the GC game they were playing on a short field most of the night. It will be a low scoring game and may be decided by a late turnover.
