Polar Bears led at Half and started the third quarter on a 14-0 run over the first 3 or so minutes and never looked back. Had the lead up to 20 at one stretch

The difference in the game was that one team had Austin Crawford and the other didn't.

 

Mustangs came out firing, knocking down four 3-pointers enroute to a 14-6 lead during the first period which ended 14-9 with the Mustangs on top.

The Mustangs led by as many as nine, with a little over five minutes to play in the half, when the Polar Bears went on a 15-3 run to end the half up 26-23.

Unheralded Brady Jones set the tone in the third period hitting three straight shots out of the locker-room as the visitors ran roughshod over the home team 23-8 in the third period to end all speculation and secure the victory, up 49-31.

To our guys' credit we played hard, battled back, outscored the Polar Bears 22-16 to make the final score 65-53.

 

As stated above Crawford led all scorers with 33 and was the Bears' only double-figure scorer.

The Mustangs placed three in double-figures led by Sophomore J.D. Schumacher and Junior Bryce Donnelly with 12 each. Zach Hamberg added 10.

 

Brossart won the Freshmen game 52-33. Bracken County won the JV game 41-35.

 

The Mustangs host Highlands tomorrow for Freshmen, JV, and Varsity contests beginning at 4:30pm.

The Polar Bears await Harrison County in The Fieldhouse as part of the Mike Murphy Classic on December 22nd.

I remember being stuck on a bus on the way to a game in Carroll county for about three hours. This I can't even imagine. Thankfully they made it home safely.

Here's the most incredible story from last night's action. The Polar Bears are just now returning to Brooksville after being stranded on the AA due to ice. And yes, it's 4:30 am. I remember being stuck on a bus on the way to a game in Carroll county for about three hours. This I can't even imagine. Thankfully they made it home safely.

 

The DAWG just made it out in time. Went to Newport to grab ab tie to eat with my broadcast partner after our game at Beechwood, and it was just starting when I got to the Pendleton/Campbell line or there about. If I'm 10-15 minutes later, I would've been stuck as well.

I went to Gold Star Chili after the game, and when I came out it was raining and my truck was a solid sheet of ice. We had a parents/players families post-game party which I had intended to intend, but wisely sought safe harbor instead and came home.

 

When I passed LaRosa's the Bracken County bus was there and I thought that they might be in for a rough trip home. I didn't realize that it would be THAT ROUGH. Glad everyone made it home safely.

I'm sure were better off sitting on the bus until 4:30am.

We went up early and ate at Longhorn before the game in anticipation of it getting bad later in the evening. Good call by Mrs PB98.
