December 17, 20169 yr This situation is a big pet peeve of mine and it was discussed in another thread a year or two ago. Universities should not be conducting rape investigations. They are not equipped to do so. That is what police departments are for. The police looked at tape of the incident and thought everything was clearly consensual and yet these guys lives are ruined just because they are accused. As I understand it, the "accused" have no real rights in these investigations. They are not allowed to have counsel present. I don't know exactly what happened but when guys get expelled and their names get drug through the mud when the police investigated this and they were not even charged, something is wrong. I am glad the other players are backing their teammates on this one.

December 20, 20169 yr Long story short - this girl was a complete idiot and all of these guys are complete scum.

I'll give it a shot: Girl has some drinks, goes to post-game party, makes poor decision to go to a separate apartment with 2 people (current player and a recruit), blurry sexual encounter takes place (difficult to tell from evidence provided the actual events and level of consent provided), others at party find out girl is "available" in other apartment and everyone "takes their turn." Messages, videos, snapchats, etc. are exchanged. Girl reports to authorities in following days. Football players try to destroy evidence on their various phones. University concludes that violation of code of conduct took place and I think everyone that was there (security footage allows them to identify all players that went into the apartments) gets suspended indefinitely. Some of the language of the texts is pretty shocking to me (in my bubble).
