Bluegrasspreps Boys Top 20 Rankings (12/14/16)

I think their the best team in the 13th region. The Bear's have multiple scorers on their team. Corbin, is a close second behind Harlan Co, they have found ways this year to stay in games while Taylor, has been in foul trouble. Which is a good sign for Corbin, if they can continue to develop other players. Corbin, would have a slight edge over other teams to challenge the Black Bear's for the 13th Region Title.

How about this 4-team pod in the upper bracket of the KOB...

Christian County (#5) vs. Fern Creek (#2)

Trinity (#4) vs. Cooper (#8)

Or this pod in the lower bracket...

Bowling Green (#1) vs. Doss (#12)

Ballard (#7) vs. Dunbar (#9)

The KOB is tougher than the state tournament!!!

I'd love to see a few of those huge games but Louisville is just a little too far away for this mountain boy.

Bardstown may end coming out of the 5th but #13 is a bit lofty.

Winning the prestigious KOB is not an easy feat and you are probably right in terms of every game could go either way and many 1st round games at State are mismatches. But I would trade a KOB title for a State Championship every time. The legacy of winning a State Championship is every kid's dream.

Oh, I agree 100%. Winning the state championship is the goal of every team and school.

Right now anyone in the top 25 can win it!!! Any given day it's really competitive this year every week some top 10 team going down.

Top 25 may be a stretch, but I would agree it is more wide open than usual. There are some elite teams, but not too much separation in the Top 1-10 for sure.

I think the top 3-5 are elite. I think the next 6-12 are in the next tier. I think 13-17 are capable and I think 18-50 are extremely close together.

@PurplePride92, can you give a preview of the CovCath-Trinity matchup? Who do you see winning?

University Heights could win it also! They have been knocked out of the top 25, whoever catch the right stride at the end of the year! Coaching will play a big part too, knowing what kids will execute what the coach want. Fern Creek also has a great coaching staff with a lot of talent!

Maybe top two Bowling Green and Fern Creek but there is very little separation in the others.

Gonna be great season!
