My guess on the complaint about the intentional foul was that the argument will be made that the defender was making a play on the ball. As you know , an intentional can still be called on a play where the defender is making a legit play on the ball. Hard fouls. Fouls that cause the offensive player to go down hard. All can be intentional even if the defender was making a play on the ball.

This is exactly the case. Their is a video on face book that has the event occurring right in front of them. Wish I knew how to access that on here without divulging the actual persons Facebook account.

I did see one angle of the play where the intention was called. I can see how both sides saw it differently.

Bertsch was simply running down the court in transition and brushed by a kid, barely making contact. The trail ref called a T. It was crazy. Did anyone else see it?

There was a lot of Jawing by both teams and maybe the T was for the jawing and not so much brushing the player. Hegyi T was for slamming the ball on a dead ball whistle. The T on the coach was just as simple as he was informing the ref about his opinion of how terrible the game was being called by said ref and he earned a T. I was at the most 10 feet from coach when he was commenting to the ref. Had a pretty good view of most of the T's and intentionals.

I was told that Campbell had 6 players on the court for one of the T's.

I do believe that was the case.

I think you guys should just chalk it up to BC being more prepared to play than CC that night and move on. In the big scheme of a season..........and post season play, it doesn't mean much. It's all about who's left standing at the end and the season is just process and preparation.

If there were 6 that's obviously a T.

 

However, I'd be curious how that occurred. I'll assume it wasn't because a kid came running off the bench during play. If so then the officials have to ask themselves how they let play start with 6. It should be caught be at least one of the 3 officials. We've all done it. We get in a hurry and we assume the team only has 5. Bad assumption sometimes.

I think there was some acting by the Polar Bears. But, if he makes an effort to "wrap up" or something even remotely resembling not just a shove, it wouldn't have been called. Don't you think?

It looks to me like when the ref crosses his arms after telling to calm down multiple times, it might be time to stop.

I've watched this video a dozen times this morning since you posted it. That was a trigger happy ref to make that call.
