I saw a collision but not a shove.

I think since he had his hands extended and the wannabe soccer player flopped into the stands it may have come across that way? JT had a better angle since he was on the sidelines. Did he call the intentional right away? Looks like he wanted or needed to foul but was shocked at the call?

Was this supposed to happen??

In the 10th, anything can and will happen. This year is looking to be another wild ride with Campbell, GRC, Mason, Bracken, Paris, Scott all proving to be capable of contending.

I saw a collision but not a shove.

That's fair.

In your expert opinion, the collision is too much, no? He just needs to get a hand in there, he doesnt have to take him to the ground, so it makes sense that it was too much?

Here's the video of the intentional foul. Bracken was up one point with under a minute left.

I can certainly see from this angle how Campbell was upset. I would have been.

I wasn't there so can't say what had transpired at this point but you know as well as anyone else that you can't determine whether a T is earned or not based on one video. I'd have to watch the entire game to see how the tone was set early on and whether there were previous incidents that would have warranted this.

The Purple will Reign when it counts. I was there and the refs let this one get out of control.... We will put this behind us and look forward to a 10th match on a nuetral court.

Nice game by our boy Hegyi

To be clear I haven't said anything about the T being deserved for Coach Russell.

I was talking about the intentional foul; not Russell's T. He probably deserved it! LOL

Gotcha. We agree.

By itself I struggle to see the call.

Bertsch's technical was ridiculous. He just simply ran by and brushed the Bracken player. Does anyone have video of this?

Used a magic word and official must've heard it.

Just to clear up a few things...CC did not get a T for 6 men on the court. They received 4 technicals (Marlow, Bertsch, Hegyi and Coach) and 1 intentional foul on Hegyi. Also, Bertsch's technical was for brushing the kid. Ref said he threw an elbow which he did not.

That's fair.

As I always say when you get to a T or an intentional foul every official has different thresholds for what it takes to earn such a call. From the angle I saw I would not have called an intentional. I'm darn sure not making that call at that point in the game unless it's obvious. It wasn't obvious to me.

I will say that it's easy to watch a film and make such a decision. It's a whole lot different being right there in the heat of the battle PLUS I don't know what happened, if anything, elsewhere in the game. So I'm speaking on this as an isolated incident.

I agree with whoever said that the kid falling (flopping a bit?) helped earn the call.

No doubt officiating in real time is extremely difficult. I think you're right too about calling it "at that point..."

How often do you think time/score come into play? Should they?
