Bourbon County 86 Mason County 79 OT

Man, Bourbon must have some team. I know it's early in the season, but I thought Mason County was the cream of the crop. I need to admit I was wrong to Randy Parker and some others.

Just like last year, Bourbon County is a lot better than their ranking/record.

Congrats to Coach Sosby and the Colonels

Good early season win for the Colonels. The 40th district is going to be very entertaining this season.

Ransom with 31 tonight. Very crafty combo guard. As I've stated on past post he's top 10 in this region easy. As the season goes along Ransom and Blackburn will be a headache for teams in the 10th.

Nice win for the Colonels. Bourbon has been a few points shy of these signature wins for a couple of years. The watch word for the 10th will again be parity........

Dunaway with 33 for the Royals. Heard 3 Royals fouled out within 3 minutes on some iffy calls. I heard the officiating was bad all night.

Iffy calls are a norm when you play at BC but they are the same iffy calls that teams have to deal with when they play at the Fieldhouse too ... Officiating is down across the board , at all levels ... Either you have refs that don't call anything and let things get out of hand or you have refs that think everyone paid their money to watch them ref ... Too many of both in my opinion ... Give me a crew of refs that call the obvious and don't stand out and I would call that a solid crew ... But I will end in saying I don't envy their job and would not dare do it myself ...

Iffy calls went both ways. It was a well played basketball game by both teams. Ransom fouled out, and Stout had 4. Both teams had foul trouble down the stretch.

The refs didn't blow Mason County's 10 point lead in the 4th quarter

2 back to back phantom charge calls on the 2 best players for MC.. Who both happened to have 4 fouls. I never once said the refs cost Mason the game either. I was just stating what I was told, all in all I still think my Royals are the team to beat in the region.:ylsuper:

Very nice work by both of those youngsters. :thumb:

MC still has a lot of room to get better this year. Depth and rebounding are the definitely areas of concern IMO.

It sounds like you are alluding to a conspiracy that the refs remembered how many fouls Dunaway and Garrison had and decided to throw the game in Bourbon's favor with two charge calls. And by your username you might be just a little bias. But the to beat got beat last night by a very good Bourbon County team that could possibly come out as 40th District Champion.
