Looks like Ryle has assumed the lead dog spot in NKY 4A.

District play hasn't begun yet. What do you base your decision on? Other 4A teams have played a tougher non-district schedule than Ryle, others have had a little bit easier one. It's wide open right now. Everyone is 0-0. Ryle has played good so far, but you can't compare that to the other 4A teams until they meet each other. Every team is fighting through injuries and personnel changes right now. The No. Ky. 4A picture will begin to clear up itself after next week's games.

Good pickup. Those are Dunbar's practice uniforms. I was told by one of their coaches something to the effect of considering their record they don't deserve the nice game uniforms they have worn the last three weeks so the coaches decided to put them in practice uniforms.

I didn't even notice the new decals until I just read your post and went back up and looked at RU's pics.

 

Great game by the Raiders! Does anyone have stats from the game? The Raider defense was outstanding.

 

The stands were packed with the Raider Nation. It's nice to see so many former players/students and fans all come together. I have to believe it helps the team in tight situations to have such a large cheering section.

Warner praised the D Coordinator for a great night on D too. Apparently Dunbar only got past the 50 yard line once, and it was when they settled for a FG.

The Ryle Coaching staff is very young and they coach with so much intensity. The D coordinator is Mike Wolfe and he does a tremendous job on the field. He is a great motivator and with that coaching staff it only carries over to them and the players. They will do just fine in 4A Northern Kentucy this year. I love Ryles chances to be there in the end. Only a few players on injured status and when they return look out for the rest of the season they will be tough to reckon with. Good Luck Raiders. JD

Time will tell but I believe this will be a very memorable season for the young men from Union. I like their intensity, unselfishness and teamwork. They are the real deal and will only get better.

Good to hear that those young men are all healthy now. I expect big things out of them once districts start. Good luck to Ryle the rest of the year. Make this season a memorable one. :thumb:

Don't forget the year before Coach Hensley took over at Dunbar they went 4-6 and missed the playoffs. Last season they had something they don't have right now: good QB play and good skill kids.

 

They have good line play and a good defense, they just don't have any game breakers and they can't hold onto the ball. With their two best skill kids out, they are hurt even more.

 

PLD still has a bunch of tough district games left against undefeated Henry Clay, Tates Creek, and Lafayette. Add that with Scott County and a surging Woodford County and the outlook is not too great.
