Not to turn this into a BW/CCH throwback thread, but Brett Brockhoeft scored a TD in the last minute or two to win by 4, I believe. Galen Healey couldn't punch it in at the end for the Colonels. CCH started 1-4 that year before winning the rest of their games all the way to the state title.

 

Actually you are wrong what happened in that game my friend. We won the game 19-10. We missed two extra points. Cov Cath did a great season by beating and stopping Bowling Green on the 5 yard line I think as time expired.

Besides winning State we wanted to beat Cov Cath more than any other team we played that year in 94. We had it in our heads no matter what we weren't going to lose that game. They beat us 53-9 in 92, then 33-12 in 93 so we were out for revenge for our Senior Year. Cov Cath had a heck of team with Galen at RB, Cogswell at QB and Oliver at Wr. They had a great defense as well. Brad Folke was a monster at LB.

Mayfield always has and always will be a great program but for the Millionth time we will never know if you would have beat us or not. We beat the teams we had to beat end of story. :laugh:

All I'm saying is that Beechwood's great run and it was a great run would not have been as great. Mayfield had some great teams in that era and they could have been in 1A. Beechwood benefited from Danville and Mayfield playing up, there is no doubt about that.

Beechwood won that game against Cov Cath in 1994, 19-10 and actually had the ball inside the 10 and took a knee late in the game.

My memory is fading. I remember you guys going up 12-10, and swore we had a shot at the end. I must of had a concussion.

Or worse

Not sure if Beechwood is BACK or not! Next year this time may answer it a bit more! With BW returning their team it looks as though they stand a great chance on getting back to BG. Hazard also returns most. I know Russellville will take a hit. Paintsville lost their Key RB but have a few that will do extremely well in that position. Pikeville will have Wyatt Baitile in his senior year and that's ALWAYS a good one to have as your center piece. Still this years season by BW after losing a chunk of seniors was very impressive!
