Franklin-Simpson 33 South Warren 16

I want to commend the FS coaching staff on a good game plan on both sides of the ball. The defense was great tonight. The offense struggled running the ball in the first half. The second half offensive play calling was very good and the kids made big plays. Congrats to SW on a well fought game. Now let's go win 2 more.

Well my last post all the credit to FS they make no mistakes and play hard every snap Good luck and keep it in Region 1.Also want to say it has been fun the last three years watching SW and my son play QB but I get to watch him on Saturdays. One last thing DF please don't drink the KOOLAID!

Well hopefully you'll stop by once in a while to fill us in on how Ryder is doing, and catch up on South with the rest of us here. I was impressed on how South stepped up to take down a very good Hopkinsville team last week, and they acquitted themselves well as defending champs, though the final result was not desired.

However, if that Koolaid we're talking about is about the Purples, that race done been run my friend! The Purples are just that good.....

Mac, I think his offer is at Jacksonville State as their QB running the option.

Can't wait to watch him play. Jacksonville State is a very good program. It is only 15 miles from my hometown. I usually go to 3 or 4 games. Coach Grass was the coach at my old high school. Oxford High.

When he gets there let us know what his number is. I think he will like the area.

Been bothering me since Friday night....

Last year the South Warren Spartans gave their fans the ultimate. A State Championship that crowned a perfect 15-0 season. It does not get any better. 2016 the fans saw their team fight through more injuries and adversity than I remember any team dealing with. In spite of this the Spartans went to the Regional Finals and ended with a 9-4 record.

As the clock ticked down to zero Friday night the SW fans vanished like smoke in a hurricane. Students left, adults left. No stand and applaud the guys for their effort, no on field support post game. These are 15-18 year old kids out there that just had their season end. If you have ever competed, really competed, you know that losing hurts worse than winning feels good. That is when a team and the individuals that make up the team need support, some encouragement, some thank yous for a great effort and great season. It is all part of building a program.

But...this is just an old guy talking.

Couldn't have said it any better. It is amazing how quickly fans, parents etc will turn on Coaches and players even at the high school level. Last year was magical for SW. To not only win the State Championship but to go undefeated and do it in such a dominating fashion doesn't happen very often. However, people have to realize that it's not going to be like that every year. Talent changes, opponents change etc...Doesn't mean those Coaches no longer know how to coach or that the kids didn't give it everything they had. A LOT of things have to go right to win a state championship. Trust me, that loss Friday night will hurt and stick with them a lot longer than even the state championship win.

Sorry I tried to stay away I agree that the compassion for these kids should of been better I was on the field to try to console the players .I have been on the field 8 times when a season has come to an end and those kids need there parents ,Coaches and each other and its sad to say all 3were lacking.I seen players looking for comfort and there just wasn't very much.
