They are protesting the fact that a person of the character that President Trump exhibits was apparently the choice of America. What they fear is the loss of hard won rights, like marriage. They fear policies of discrimination based on any number of factors. They fear the people who voted for him, that they'll be emboldened to act upon beliefs that are (at best) misguided or (at worst) based in hatred.

 

Has Trump done any of those things yet for them to protest? Biggest issue I have is that 90% of these protests are set up behind the scenes, not protests born out of real protest. Heck have you seen the interviews with the protesters? Most never voted. Some are at a loss when asked why they are there. I posted a Craigslist ad from Philly showing they were being bought and paid for. It smells Rockmom and I think even you would agree to that.

The people who are accepting payment to protest the results of a fair election and the people who are rioting in response to a fair election are part of an evil bloc. If that description does not include you, then there is no excuse for directing your anger and frustration at me.

 

If you know people who fit that description, then you should be urging them to go home and accept the results of the election.

Also, to address the question "has Trump yet"...given his bombastic campaign and divisive rhetoric, I would think letting President Trump know up front that the people he said he will target are not going to just lie down and take it is appropriate.

Honestly, given what I know about myself, I would respect their right to protest. Rioting is not acceptable at any time by any one for any reason. But peaceful protest is nothing to fear, and is a way for people to express themselves. There is no greater freedom, in my opinion, within the Constitution. It's also what allows us to be able to speak so freely here on BGP about our leaders.

 

I am a "take the bull by the horns" sort of person. Now that the issue of "who" had been decided, the next phase should be a discussion of the next steps. We can all affect change in our little parts of the world. And it's helpful to know what ideas everyone has so that we can understand each other, even if we don't agree. Whatever happens in DC, we all still have to live and work and associate with each other. Any unity will begin at our level, not in DC. It's up to us to work toward that goal.

 

We have never had a problem working beside each other before. With the left anger that may be an issue.

Who's depressed?? BGP leans pretty strongly to the right. Only a handful here voted for HRC...there were probably more 3rd party voters than HRC voters. You're probably overstating the effects on Anti-Depressents sales...

I never could figure out what the one drumbeat of the electorate was that was a true reason to vote Democrat, was it - to continue Obama's legacy or to elect the first woman president?

Funny you should state unfounded facts. The now infamous tape was made during a private conversation between two men who were lewd and disgusting. I'm not upholding their behavior or language. One item on that tape still confounds me. Of everyone on BGP, men and women, there was a statement on tape of grabbing a woman's "body part". How in the world can this be done? You just don't go up to someone fully clothed and grab that. And how can the leap be made from bragging go the fact that he assaulted any woman? This statement was so untrue. So then the left ran with this headline and stated he had admitted he had assaulted women and then brought out 12 women who were assaulted. Sorry, but there is not a ring of truth about any of this. The only thing true was that there was an audio tape. Oh, and BTW, where are these wronged women now?
