I do think this is a positive. But will Trump, Republicans and the Trumpeteers be able to move on from the Clintons? That would be great if they would. From what I see on BGP, and what I saw for years after Bill Clinton was gone, I have doubts.

Republicans must shake the dust of the Clinton's from their feet. I for one did not vote them in to go after perceived slights. It is a fools chase. Enough already. It is up to the Obama presidency to deal with the Clinton Machine. There can be so many good things accomplished by the Trump presidency, as long as the House and Senate don't waste precious time chasing Clinton and Obama shadows. We have serious problems and the elected persons in Washington need to take stock of that fact. They know they have an angry electorate who will not put up with any wasted time.

Agreed. Going after HRC doesn't do anyone any good. The country has bigger fish to fry and other work that needs to be done.

Funny you should state unfounded facts. The now infamous tape was made during a private conversation between two men who were lewd and disgusting. I'm not upholding their behavior or language. One item on that tape still confounds me. Of everyone on BGP, men and women, there was a statement on tape of grabbing a woman's "body part". How in the world can this be done? You just don't go up to someone fully clothed and grab that. And how can the leap be made from bragging go the fact that he assaulted any woman? This statement was so untrue. So then the left ran with this headline and stated he had admitted he had assaulted women and then brought out 12 women who were assaulted. Sorry, but there is not a ring of truth about any of this. The only thing true was that there was an audio tape. Oh, and BTW, where are these wronged women now?

 

What's done is done. I don't know if he ever assaulted anyone, and until it's proven (or disproven) we'll never know for sure. However, what he said gets you fired from your job. If a tape of me saying that came out publicly, I can guarantee I would no longer be coaching two sports at a public school, regardless of when I said it. People on this site have called for heads of public figures for similar quotes and possible actions. If I'm not going to give any one else a pass for saying something like that, I'm surely not giving my future President a pass.

 

But at this point, it's moot. You have your reasons for voting for him....I have my reasons for not voting for him. Doesn't make either one of right or wrong.

If Hillary Clinton committed felonies that the highly politicized Obama Justice Department refused to indict her for, should Americans move on from the Clintons without holding them accountable? Or should an independent counsel be appointed to find the truth and prosecute if a grand jury believes that the evidence warrants the action?

 

I think that this is a tough call. If I were Trump, I would begin applying heavy pressure to Obama to give Hillary the choice between a full confession of any crimes that she may have committed, in exchange for a pardon, and facing investigation and possible prosecution by an independent counsel.

 

I don't think that Trump should have to deal with the mess that the Clintons left behind but I also believe that the Clintons need to be held accountable for their actions, if any crimes have been committed.

 

I hope you are going to be ok when Trump takes no action against Hillary. Please don't let that change your support for Trump. There are much more important things if he is to be successful as President. Based on what he said in his 60 Minutes interview, it doesn't sound like he has much, if any, interest in pursuing the Clintons.

I will be very disappointed if Trump does not persuade Obama to close the books on Clinton's crimes. Obama allowed the mess to be created and fester during his administration, he should take responsibility for cleaning it up.

 

I am sure that Trump will disappoint me many times during the next four years. There were good reasons that I did not decide to vote for Trump until a few days before the election and those reasons have not evaporated since the election. I will not reflexively defend Trump's actions from critics the way that so many Obama followers have done.
