I don't know anyone depressed. I get that it would be more satisying for some if we were angry, or despondant, or...anything. Those I've seen posting are just trying to figure out how the hell we're going to have a real, honest to goodness conversation. No goading, no taunting, just exchanges of ideas and discussions.

Whose supporters have rioted for days over losing a democratic election by a wide margin? That did not happen following the elections of 2000, 2008, or 2012. Liberals have a tradition of whining over lost opportunities. If they are not whining, protesting, and rioting, they are calling for endless rounds of recounts. Hillary supporters are blaming her loss on everybody but the scandal-ridden candidate who lost.

I think its hard for the Trump supporters and the supporters of a smooth and peaceful transition to let it go when you have protests, which are mostly being hired out and ran by the left to continue to divide us even more. I think the right heard when the left railed before the election that the Trump supporters would not surrender power peaceably and now this crap. Its just a little hard to do when this is going on given the circumstances dont you think?

 

A good question for everyone to ask is what would you say if Trump had lost and the Trumpsters were rioting in different places and there were 100% proof that they were being paid by the Republicans? Be honest.

Honestly, given what I know about myself, I would respect their right to protest. Rioting is not acceptable at any time by any one for any reason. But peaceful protest is nothing to fear, and is a way for people to express themselves. There is no greater freedom, in my opinion, within the Constitution. It's also what allows us to be able to speak so freely here on BGP about our leaders.

 

I am a "take the bull by the horns" sort of person. Now that the issue of "who" had been decided, the next phase should be a discussion of the next steps. We can all affect change in our little parts of the world. And it's helpful to know what ideas everyone has so that we can understand each other, even if we don't agree. Whatever happens in DC, we all still have to live and work and associate with each other. Any unity will begin at our level, not in DC. It's up to us to work toward that goal.

I agree the right to protest. But look at it like this. What are they protesting? A fair election? The DNC or Soros not paying them enough to protest? That Trump dont share their same opinions? Protesting the EC? You see how silly this is? Problem is they are protesting because someone behind the scenes is trying to divide us and the people protesting are not being good detectives as to why. Nobody got killed etc. We had a election. SMH.

I've said numerous times that I'm not mad about the election results and I'm over my disappointment. There's nothing to be done to change that, so it's time to move forward.

 

I am angry that posters who won't stop trying to paint people who didn't vote for President Trump as some sort of evil voting bloc. I am angry at the lack of civility. I'm angry at myself for allowing myself to respond in kind. But the election is what it is. And our country will be whatever it is to be, unified or divided, because of people like you and me. WE choose to be united or not to be, despite who our president is.

I agree the right to protest. But look at it like this. What are they protesting? A fair election? The DNC or Soros not paying them enough to protest? That Trump dont share their same opinions? They are protesting the fact that a person of the character that President Trump exhibits was apparently the choice of America. What they fear is the loss of hard won rights, like marriage. They fear policies of discrimination based on any number of factors. They fear the people who voted for him, that they'll be emboldened to act upon beliefs that are (at best) misguided or (at worst) based in hatred.

I don't think any of us believe you aren't or haven't been mad, regardless of what you say. And you've always been argumentative with those who have different political views than you, so I don't know why you're trying to paint yourself as a victim of others here and that this is some new revelation for you since Tuesday. You've just had the "trump" card if you will, with your candidate being the president. A lot of people voted Trump because they were ready for a change. No one wanted 4 more years of Obama and that's what Hillary would've been.
