Bowling Green 44 Christian County 29

I said this during the whole game. I can honestly say I have never seen a team blatantly hold as bad and as much as CC.

Their OL arm held, tackled deadlocked Bowling Greens DE every play. Which is why BG had a hard time getting to their QB. When their QB was pressured, he struggled.

Their whole plan to stop the BG passing game was to jersey pull BG receivers all the way down field. If that didn't work they would bump the heck out of them and if that didn't work they would trip or tackle them before they touched the ball. It was ridiculous and they got away with a lot of it.

Have to love when excuses start happening for why a team didn't win by as much or look as good. If I had to guess players for the other team probably felt like they were held at times that was not called and other penalties they probably felt should have been called. Shoot every single play in every game there is players or coaches asking for a penalty.

So does suck seeing some people on here make excuses for why one of the top programs in the state didn't look as good. While acting like other teams probably don't feel the same way about penalties not called in games. In fact I would say most top teams usually seem to get the benefit of doubt more in games on questionable calls than other teams.

Good game plan by CC and nice adjustments by Bowling Green. It is probably a good thing for BG to have a game like this.

Uh.......Bowling Green did look good. Especially in the second half. They jumped out to a 17-0 lead....they were cruising. CC made some adjustments, made a comeback. BG made halftime adjustmenrs and beat a top 3 ranked team in 5A by two touchdowns. And it could have been three. BG purposely didn't score late in the fourth for sportsmanship.

It marks the second time BG beat CC this season. the first by running clock, the second was closer. BG moves on and plays next week.

All I'm saying is it was ridiculous the officials let them get away with as much as they did. It was. It was blatantly holding on both sides of the ball and it should have been called.....a lot more.

All I am saying it's sad hearing excuses about why one team may have made it closer. As I mentioned I guarntee you every team in every game can talk about holds that they thought should be called, pass interferences that should have been called, etc. As i mentioned I am sure CC players and coaches probably feel like there were many calls that should have happened on bowling Green that wasn't called either. That can be said any game.

CC was called for 17 penalties...to BG 6. Sounds like sour grapes to me. There was a lot of holding going on for both teams, on BGs last big run for a TD #70 practically tackles a CC player right in front of the white hat. But guess what...it wasn't called. Great game between two great teams.

It have been 37. Officials must have got tired of pulling their flag out. And no, there was not a lot of holding on both teams. That's sourgrapes. Just telling it like it is.

Great observation! I would take it a step further and say that BG expected to win and CC hoped to win. I believe that winning pedigree plays a large role in these type of games. BG players remained focused and continued to play with in themselves. While the CC players started playing outside of themselves trying to do too much, when you should let that block go because the defender is pulling away, instead you grab and hold etc...BG is a top class program I have nothing but the upmost respect for what they are doing! If you want to be the champs you have to beat the champs, making 5A that much better in the West!

Great point Big Tiger!

Christian County will be Top 5 5A next year to I think. Coach Lovelace and staff doing great things in Christian County!

It is probably a good thing for BG to have a game like this.

FC,

I think it's a really good thing as I think it will truly get the teams attention and they should be locked in from here on out!

Wallace was working the officials all night and got several call on big gains n the 3rd quarter. On a side note I'm 100 percent certain CC should have been credit for a safety right before half. The team that did win deserve to win just throwing my 2 cents in.

I wouldn't disagree with any of this, but would be curious what the officials had to say at halftime about that safety?

I'm glad you and futurecoach feel the need to butt in. Let me educate you a little. Sour grapes come from a team that lost, not from a team with 450+ total offense and about 3 close plays from scoring 60+.

CC-91 yds rushing

CC-331 passing

BG-173 yds rushing

BG-241 yds rushing

CC penalties 17-163

Never heard of a team fans making excuses for a good game. Facts are facts. BG is a great team and won.

Make sure to go into every thread here on bgp and tell all the winning teams their refs were perfect and to say any different is sour grapes.

You don't see CC fans suggesting that our 17 penalties were the reason we lost...no it's the turnovers. Yet some fans are implying that CC's holding caused for a closer game. Not true. Hard fought game between two teams whom were not ready to go home.

My bad I didn't know this thread was posted on the Bowling Green fans only site. I'm sorry for butting in. My apologies.

Bowling Green has one of their closest games in awhile. Then a fan comes on here talking about all the so called holds that were missed. BG has one of the best programs and fan bases around. Yet after a kind of close game someone wants to keep saying how they can't believe a team got away with holding all night.

So I'm sorry for butting in and thinking that was was silly for someone to complain like that trying to act like that was the reason it was close. My apologies for accidently butting in and going to the bowling Green fan page website by accident. I thought I was on bgp. My apologies.
