Interesting to note for sure but I was more specifically talking about committing turnovers.

 

Boyle has seemingly struggled to hold on to the football in the games they have lost this year:

 

6 INT's vs. LexCath

4 INT's vs. Danville

INT and 2 Fumbles vs. North Hardin

 

The only loss where they held on to it fairly well was Lafayette...

 

Boyle's starting QB has thrown 11 interceptions this season so it looks like 10 of them came in two of the losses Lexington Catholic and Danville. I will be the first to admit Boyle has to take care of the football in order to win against Central they may survive 1 or maybe 2 turnovers but anymore than that and they're in trouble. On paper Boyle's defense has created a lot more turnovers than Central this season the numbers don't lie not to mention Boyle has put the ball in the air a lot more than Central this season which would be another reason for more interceptions thrown by Boyle.

I was just going with what the KHSSA had listed for the starting QB. I remember the 2 the freshman threw against Lexington Catholic.

Last year Central's line was smaller than Boyle on both sides of the ball, and they were probably the smallest team Boyle played all last season. Is this years version that much bigger?

 

They aren't huge like Belfry, but they are pretty big. On film, at least, they look bigger than Boyle.

I do not believe that Boyle has had a bigger line against any team they have played this year.

As far as the line goes Boyle may not be as good on either side of the ball but as far as skilled players go Boyle is just fine. Hope i don't eat crow but i look for Boyle to win by a couple of TDs. I think it will come down to coaching and play calling. If Boyle gets a head early then Central has to play catch up, last year Boyle got behind and had to throw the ball a bunch to play catch up and didn't work. If Boyle is able to get the ball in their playmakers hands watch out they are better than a lot of people give them credit. Gonna be a great atmosphere and great match up!!

I think its going to be in the range of 26-21, Central. Central never really wins big. They just do what they do.

Oh okay. The way you worded it I thought you had a much larger deficit for the young Rebels.

 

It should be a great game. I look forward to hearing the result tomorrow. I hate that I'm going to miss it.

Having completed my research, I conclude these are two very evenly matched teams. Central may have the best overall athlete in senior Corey Johnson, but I believe Boyle has the overall better team.

 

Home field advantage is a plus for Central. Central is always a tough place to win. I believe since Boyle played there last year in this exact game nullifies that advantage.

 

If Boyle can stay in front of the chains and not force QB Sam Tiller to make great plays downfield, Boyle will be fine and should be able to put a fair amount of points on the scoreboard.

 

Also, special teams could play a huge role in the outcome of this game. I believe last years game had a long punt return, a punt block for TD, and a blocked XP.

 

This shapes up to be a great second round matchup.
