Then you tell me how Cooper Ryle and SK have just as much pressure to succeed as HHS players. Cause I can tell you many reasons why it's tough on the HHS kids. But you go first.

If you can, and are so confident, put it out there.... or are you not allowed? This little game gets exhausting.

Id say 5-10 years, enrollment is about steady. Before that, I'd say it had a little bump. But keep in mind the difference in what we are talking about. I graduated in 86. I had 165 kids in my class 30 years ago. My daughter just graduated last year with one of the largest classes ever (i think). She graduated with 230. And I don't believe there is a class left that is that big now. I may be wrong. Just going off what an 18 year old told me. That's in 30 years! Now tell me how much growth those other schools have had? Well in that time you can count all of Cooper and all or Ryle and SK just about doubled theirs and are still growing! Adding to HHS what SK and Ryle have added would be like adding NCC and Newport to HHS. We just don't have that luxery and turnover. But it's been that way forever. That's another reason we know that it will turn back around again. It always does. As I mentioned in another post, Boone used to be a powerhouse and competed with HHS every year in NKY. It stays fairly steady on The Forts and comes and goes in other areas.

I'd be ok with that

Bunch of dusty trophies being constantly thrown in the kids faces by arrogant parents who can't let the 30 year old war stories go. Is that close? It's ok to push for maximum performance, to expect their best effort, to never give up. Problem is the expectation of the results of those efforts. They may be right where the TALENT LEVEL OF THEIR COMPETITION lands them. In other words... It's not you, it's us.

Just quit already. You sound silly.

All these kids are the same. They all want to win period. If you are born in Ft Thomas you aren't born with a gene that makes you any more special or makes you want to win anymore than anyone else or makes it hurt any more when you lose. Just stop already with the arrogance. It's silly to actually believe what you're saying. All these years you've put down all the other programs in the area saying garbage like "no o e works as hard" or "no one prepares as much" or "no one trains as hard" or "no one prepares as much" blah blah blah and it's gotten old. I have a secret for you, the HHS players have no more pressure than any other kid has to want to win period. Maybe it's people like you that put that so called pressure on the kids and if that is true then shame on you.

You try try and tell my son who lost in a state title game that it's alright and his anger and disappointment wasn't even close to what a HHS player feels when he loses. Such garbage. All these boys and especially seniors can't put anymore pressure on them to win in their last ever season than anyone else at any other school. What you make it sound like is a bunch of spoiled rotten kids who expect things to be handed to them and if it doesn't happen then woe is them for not getting the ring at the end of the fight.

The "why" there is more pressure wasn't the debate. The debate between hellbird and I is "if" there is more pressure. He says no and I say yes. You just named one reason why. Agree with it or not it's still there.

You always just read and interpret what you want. Where in the world did I say others didn't want to win????

Where in the world did I say anything about having a different gene or the kids being any different from city to city? We aren't talking about the kids or their will to win. We are talking about the outside pressure applied to those kids. We have out of district kids that feel the same pressure. They weren't born in Ft thomas and they don't even live in Ft Thomas!

And it has nothing to do with the disappointment and frustration after the final loss (like in your sons experience). We were talking about the pressures applied on each program and the kids in those program from outside sources! Has nothing to do with anything you just stated in your post. Again, you read and interpret things much differently that what's actually being said.

I think what some may want to know is what are those pressures and who applies them? What makes them more significant than those placed on other players and programs; particularly those programs that have been historically successful.

Reality sets in. Really I'd take care and note that you guys are going to have your kids feeling bad about their HS careers because they didn't live up to predetermined standards. I don't doubt their efforts or will, just lost and that happens. Get used to it or you'll be miserable along with the kids because of you. Just saying as a parent, enjoy the journey, don't drive, just go along for the ride. It's really enjoyable win or lose if you let it be. Support, cheer, be proud, be disappointed if you must but keep the disappointments to your self. It's about the journey, building character and relationships, not a bigger trophy case. The kids grow up fast 10 years from now this won't matter. Good luck to you all.

Funny! You say in one sentence that they have no more pressure than any other kid and then in the next say maybe "the pressure" comes from people like you. Meaning me. I didn't say where it comes from or why it's there. I didn't say I agreed with why some of the pressure is there. All I said is it's there in a bigger way and you just admitted it by blaming me. All I'm doing is telling you the truth. Doesn't have anything to do with who plays harder, who is more disappointed. Who works harder. It has to do with the weight on the shoulders that is applied. I didn't say whether the weight is right or wrong. But anyone that is debating this with me has already agreed the weight is there. Whether you agree with "why" the weight is there is an entirely different debate.

Let me ask all of you this. Is there more pressure to play bball at KY, Duke, Kansas or NC than to coach or play at NKU, Morehead, Harvard or Bowling Green? Well I'm sure I know what your answer is. So tell me, why is that?

I think what some may want to know is what are those pressures and who applies them? What makes them more significant than those placed on other players and programs; particularly those programs that have been historically successful.

Im trying to get there! Lol

Again. I didn't say I agreed with why there is additional pressure. I just said there is additional pressure. I don't even have a son that will play. And this just didn't start this past couple years. I graduated in 86 and I felt the pressure then to uphold the tradition. For many different reasons and not one of them was from my mom applying pressure to me.

When you said HHS players have more pressure on them than any other NKY player

Now your adding that no other programs have pressure to win like HHS does. Keep digging the hole deeper.

I will I'll give you just one of many examples of a team and it's players that I feel had more pressure on them to win this year than HHS players and that is Cov Cath players to get that monkey off their backs and finally beat HHS.

Yes. Pressure. Not dedication loyalty, means more to them, disappointment or anything else you want to twist it to being. Pressure that they are under, for whatever reason, to succeed. Doesn't mean they care more than other kids. Doesn't mean they work harder than other kids. Mean for outside reasons, there is more press wire on them.

I think what RCC is trying to say is the 100 yr tradition puts a little more pressure on you than other schools who don't have 23 titles. I would agree with that whether it sounds arrogant or not it likely is true.
