Dave Chappelle to host SNL on 11/12

Featured Replies

The skit about the election watch get together was good. The video with all the Chappelle characters was ok. The rest were just like the majority of the skits in every SNL show I have watched over the years. Only a few of the skits are good and it has always been that way. The thing SNL doesn't do as well as they used to is create characters and skits that are good and able to be repeated.

Watching Chappelle's monologue last night, I'm surprised he's able to get away with saying certain words for which a white comic would be condemned.

I haven't watched SNL for years so if this is now the norm, and can be expressed no matter who you are, then excuse my ignorance. I've not watched the program over the years quite simply because I just didn't find it funny.

Just got off work. His monologue has me in tears already.

I just got this money!!!! I didn't think it was possible!!! :lol2: :lol2:

It's funny until folks turn in to Kramer from Seinfeld. Gary Owens is a successful white comedian who makes fun of black people all of the time and I'd say most of his audience is black. He got his start doing stand up for a comedy show that was on BET. He doesn't use the n word in his routine but he definitely makes fun of black people in a hilarious fashion. I think Gary Owens is funny as hell. Love that cat.

This was my thought as well. But overall I really enjoyed it.

I think making fun of folks IS funny PP no matter who it is. We're all too damn serious any more. It's when the "n" word is used for comedy by some comics it's acceptable, but by other comics it is not. So why use it at all?
