Hacksaw Ridge

This movie doesn't come out until next weekend, but I definitely plan on seeing it.

I love WWII, so that easily brought me in. Mel Gibson also doesn't let me down when it comes to his Directing/Producing.

Anyone else thinking about seeing it?

Oh, yeah. And for the reasons you mentioned.

Also looking forward to Dunkirk which comes out next year.

From the previews it looks like my kind of movie.

The lady, my mom, and I went to see this yesterday morning (love paying just $5 a ticket). I thought it was very good and definitely worth seeing.

Andrew Garfield did a great job with his character. And I have to give Mel Gibson props because he doesn't disappoint at all as a Director/Producer.

The first half of the movie was pretty good as things build up. But it sure takes off in the 2nd half of the movie. Definitely some gore, so be prepared. Some very intense scenes. I thought it was great and would recommend it to anyone.

I would agree. But it wasn't like over the top gore, in my opinion. I have never been in that situation, but I'd imagine that it was very realistic gore.

Agreed...Just got home from seeing it. It was a really good movie. It is like Private Ryan on Steroids and to think that it is based on a true event is incredible. The fact that he actually saved 75 men is incredible...I loved the last 5 minutes also.

I would say this was one of the best films I have seen in quite some time. One of the few movies worth paying full price for. As others have said, be prepared for the intensity and real war graphics. Acting is very good, directing is amazing, and the story is authentic. Didn't seem like a 2 hr 18 min movie. Had my attention from opening till closing.

Picked this up last night on DVD. In laws are in town and hadn't seen it yet, both with military backgrounds.

They loved it. And I really loved it again after the second time.
