Simon Kenton should hold the 8th, and Cov Cath should hold the 9th. I don't see any consistancy out of Holmes

Not many teams in nky are going to be able to match up with them. I said it a long time ago, and I'll say it again...Holmes WILL take the 9th region this year as long as they stay together.

Couldn't agree with you anymore. A couple other players could be mentioned, but none are better than the above.

Holy Cross- Jim Ryan

Boone- Chris Bray

 

None of them players are better than the above, but these are probably closest to top 10 in nky.

Good to see Chris Bray getting some pub....if he could just keep focused on the game and not so much talking during the game! Good shooter and pretty athletic player!

Big question...with as much fanfare/publicity as these guys have gotten since their youth basketball days as Tarheels if they don't win a second regional title how will their high school careers be viewed?

Paintsville has the talent to be the top team in the 15th, but they will have to play as a team and not as they have been playing for the past 2 years.

I just don't know if anyone in the 15th should be ranked in the preseason top 25.

They seemed to always be one really good big man away from being tremendous. Rice at just 6ft 3in is just not big enough. They are the favorite going into the season but I wouldnt be shocked if CovCath knocks takes the cake in the end. It's a long season you know and a lot of things can happen, especially with the Bulldogs.

Can someone tell me why LexCath isn't a top 10 team? They are physical, can shoot from the perimeter, and have a gem inside with Novosel. IMO they are better than Doss, South Laurel, Holmes, Covington Catholic, and possibly even Jtown, all of whom crack many people's top 10 lists.

Couldn't agree anymore. The one year they actually had a big man (Lexie Brown), they won region. But with the athleticism that these young men have, size isn't a factor. All their lives they've been smaller but continued to beat the bigger teams simply because of their ability to get out and run.

 

I think the winner of the Covcath-Holmes regualr season game, will determine who wins region. Confidence is the biggest advantage either can possess. Holmes definetly has the better talent though...all depends on whether the talent, or TEAM shows up. Holy Cross also has the ability to be a dark horse. Either way, the 9th region will run through the 35th for the 4th (?) year in a row.

What a shame you guys make multiple posts without mentioning Zach Kiernan from NewCath. He's easily one of the five best players in the Ninth entering the season.
