How does Boyle match up against the rest of the 3A Top Ten?

Featured Replies

Where does #3 Boyle County stand against the other ranked teams in 3A?

They just lost convincingly to #4 Lexington Catholic. Turnovers played a role. Was it a style of play mismatch or was Lexington Catholic just that much better? Would Boyle beat Central? Caldwell Co?

Here is last weeks 3A top ten. How would Boyle match up with the other 9 ranked teams if they played THIS WEEK?

1. Belfry (7-1) BEAT Warrensville Heights (OH) 36-0

2. Corbin (7-1) BEAT Bell County 50-0

3. Boyle County (4-4) LOST to #4 Lexington Catholic 7-38

4. Lexington Catholic (3-5) BEAT #3 Boyle County 38-7

5. Caldwell County (6-3) BEAT Fort Campbell 38-0

6. Central (4-4) BEAT #7 Bardstown 21-19

7. Bardstown (7-1) LOST to #6 Central 19-21

8. Russell (7-1) BEAT Lewis County 62-28

9. Elizabethtown (5-3) BEAT Adair County 35-12

10. Casey County (7-0) BEAT Jackson County 40-12

I say they would go 4-5

I think they lose to Belfry, Corbin, LexCath, Caldwell and they would split with Central and Bardstown.

I don't know if they lose to Caldwell. Much of Boyle's problems with Catholic appears to be between the ears.

What about Central and Bardstown?

How many do they win out of the 9?

I could be wrong, but I'd pick them over Caldwell, Russell, Etown, and Casey today. I haven't seen Bardstown so I can't say that one. I'd pick them to lose to Belfry, Corbin, Catholic, and Central.

NO and NO and 3.

Boyle has potential to make a little noise in the state playoffs but it will depend on matchups, changes and how quickly Chuck Smith wants to prepare for 2017.

Understood. But let's put the playoffs aside for now. I'm wondering about TODAY. How do you think Boyle fares in the question posted?

Don't know most of the other teams but I'll say this...you win games in the trenches and we are very inconsistent at times in that area.

But I'll take a shot.

We would handle Casey, Russell, Etown, Bardstown and Caldwell.

Can beat LexCath and Central but would have to play great.

Would lose to Corbin and Belfry.

I'll say 5-4.

I think Boyle could go 7-3 or 3-7 against the top 10. The 3 for sure losses are Belfry, Corbin and Lex Cath. The 3 for sure wins are Casey, Russell and Etown. The remaining games just depends on the night and which Boyle team decides to show up.

Very good answer West. Are you by any chance a politician? lol
